Laurie Anderson, RNP, MSN, is a certified family nurse practitioner and the director of wellness for Fit4D.com, a personalized coaching service for people living with diabetes. She obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing from Old Dominion University in 1984 and her master's degree in nursing from the University of Rhode Island in May 2003. She is certified as a diabetes educator by the State of Rhode Island, and is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. Other professional affiliations include: charter membership in The American College of Clinicians, a professional organization for advanced practice clinicians; the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; the American Nurse's Association; and the Rhode Island State Nurses Association Nurse Practitioner Council. She is certified by the American Heart Association in advanced cardiac life support and by the American Cancer Society as a "Freedom From Smoking" counselor. She maintains her clinical practice in a variety of settings, including the emergency department of a community hospital and in primary care.
