Michael H. Schiff, MD

Michael H. Schiff, MD, is the medical director of the Denver Arthritis Clinic Research Unit and associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Rheumatology Division. He is a lead clinical investigator in the U.S. Phase III trials for leflunomide, a potential new treatment for rheumatoid arthritis.

A recognized expert in the field of rheumatology, Schiff has authored numerous articles in leading medical journals such as Arthritis and Rheumatism, The New England Journal of Medicine, and The American Journal of Medicine. He has served on medical committees for many prestigious professional organizations such as the Arthritis Foundation and the American College of Rheumatology. Schiff is also a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and past president of the Rocky Mountain Rheumatism Society and Colorado Society of Internal Medicine.

Schiff received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago. He earned his medical degree and completed a rheumatology fellowship at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Albany Medical Center, Hospital of the Union University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
