Myrna Armstrong, PhD, RN, is a professor in the School of Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. She has been conducting and publishing research on tattooing since 1990, body piercing since 1994, and branding since 1999. Most recently, her research was featured in Reader's Digest, U.S. News and World Report and PhysiciansandSports Medicine.
Armstrong served as a colonel in the United States Army Reserve, completing a pilot study on tattooing in the military. She continues to work on a gang resocialization project for youth within the city of Lubbock.
