Robert K. Rude, MD

Robert K. Rude, MD, is director of Bone and Mineral Clinic at Orthopaedic Hospital in Los Angeles. An internationally respected researcher and educator in the area of metabolic bone disease (osteoporosis), Rude is regularly published in a variety of professional journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Medicine and Osteoporosis International. He is a sought-after guest speaker and lecturer, and has appeared in front of groups at Stanford University, Purdue University, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

In addition to his teaching and professional responsibilities, Rude devotes a considerable amount of time researching osteoporosis and magnesium deficiency, among other areas. He is the recipient of both the Clinical Associate Physician and Clinical Investigator awards from the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association Grant, and the Faculty Research and Invocation Award (University of Southern California).

A native of Crosby, N.D., Rude received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks and his medical degree from the Northwestern University School of Medicine.
