Sara Butler, director of content strategy, leads the team responsible for defining the user journey of visitors across the health and wellness landscape. By mapping user insights against the nuances of a given condition, her team is able to identify valuable topics that engage users and help them make informed health choices. The content strategy team drives the development of more than 400 pieces of user-facing health content and 800 editorial package proposals per year.
Butler joined WebMD in 2007, originally as a programming manager and an audience insights expert. Prior to joining WebMD she held creative lead positions with the digital content teams at The Home Depot and Storehouse Furniture. Early in her career she worked as an audio engineer on Nashville’s Music Row and for Turner Entertainment Networks.
Butler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Middle Tennessee State University, but will always share her loyalty with her previous alma mater, Michigan State.
