Virgil Simons is the president of V. H. Simons & Associates, a marketing, consulting, and publishing company based in Secaucus, N.J. Five years ago, at the age of 48, he had his first PSA (prostate specific antigen test) and discovered that prostate cancer was a possibility. Shortly thereafter it became a reality and started him on a course of discovery, resulting in the successful treatment of his cancer and an impetus for a new commitment.
Simons is the author and publisher of the web site Virgil's On-line Guide to Fighting Prostate Cancer. He recently established The Prostate Net, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to prostate cancer patients and survivors and their families and caregivers. He has co-authored or contributed to three books on prostate cancer and has developed many publications and informational pieces.
