I am taking Horse Chestnut for my varicose veins (300 mg morning and night). They have been extremely effective in reducing the pain and heaviness in my calf. I recently ran out of tablets, and within a week I noticed that my calf started aching again. I need to take them with food, otherwise they make me extremely nauseous. (I accidentally took one on an empty stomach, and I threw up.) I also no...

Simultaneous "pins and needles" tingling in my feet while trying to sleep at night AND hyper-sensitivity to ANYTHING touching the inside of my foot (including just the sheets). Now, after a week of taking 300mg, late afternoon/early evening, it appears to have helped DRAMATICALLY to the point of being able to get a full nights sleep.

Before using Horse Chestnut, I had severe pain in my leg veins, could not sleep at night without pain, and could not fly because of pain upon sitting for long periods of inactivity. After using this herb, I have been able to fly with only occasional, minimal discomfort, and sleep 95% of nights without pain.

I took this product for two months. Within several days my symptoms of pain changed and got worse. I finally decided to discontinue using the product. I felt better after a week. I did not take this product under the supervision of my doctor.

Horse Chestnut is wonderful for leg cramps. However, prolonged use of it is bad for the liver and will raise liver enzyme levels.
