Pancreatin works wonders if you do not have intestinal damage (leaky gut syndrome/ intestinal permeability). Even probiotics (ie. L. Acidophilus, rhamnosus, casei, etc) should be avoided (see Mayo Clinic site). Dog - bloat. My dog had the same odour of the capsules coming through her skin. This was then followed after a couple weeks with skin sores. Just looking for some feedback.

Was on prevacid. Got off and switched to Pepcid. Felt aweful. Was taking digestive enzymes with little relief. Switched to Solaray Pancreatin 1300 and after first pill great relief. Feel so much better on pancreatin.

My husband has been taking this for years. A prescruption was costing us $1,600. a month. I found this for him at a health food store. The one we got there is no longer being made. I got him 7 bottles of 100 pills each. We are now looking for another brand.

Pancreatin works wonders if you do not have intestinal damage (leaky gut syndrome/ intestinal permeability). Even probiotics (ie. L. Acidophilus, rhamnosus, casei, etc) should be avoided (see Mayo Clinic site). When you have intestinal damage ANY thing you take and/or eat including pancreatin and probiotics, can leave the GI tract (through the tiny holes created by these damage), and go straight to your blood, where it does not belong, and can go anywhere in our body, possible causing multiple organ failure, an auto-immune attack, skin sores/itching, and/or asthma, imflamation etc. In the case of the previous reviewer’s dog, the dog’s body (actually his liver) is trying to get ride of the pancreatin in his blood though his/her skin. What to do? Whether is for you or your dog, you can still take very low dosages but you have to fix the intestinal damage also! L-Glutamine is great for that, specially when combine with N-Acetyl Cysteine, and Zinc. There are others that also help: slippery elm, marshmallow root, aloe vera. No probiotics for at least 3 momnths!, no sugar, no carbohydrates, specially grains! For HUMANS buy the smallest capsule size available (I re-encapsulate it myself and I buy un-diluted pancreatin) and take the mini-caps while eating so it mixes with my food in my stomach. For DOGS: buy your dog grain-free/no-carbs/low-carbs/low-sugar/no-sugar food (or cook for him, I cook for mine ?), put food in a mini-grinder, add some water (specially if dry food) and a very small amount of pancreatin and mix it well. Of course take care of any Candida overgrowth and parasites also. I do this for me and my dogs. Best wishes!
