I first discovered SAMe ( I think from a radio program in NYC) about 12 years ago when insurance ran out and I could no longer afford antidepressants. The AD's were also no longer performing very well. Coincidentally (I thought) I was suffering from the symptoms of Fibromialgia....very badly. Thousands of dollars and 2.5 years of varying fibro treatments ...guess what finally knocked it out. A...

I have been taking this on and off for a few years for depression and C.F.S. It has definitely been effective. I use Jarrows but I once tried Holland and Barratt's brand and it didn't work at all so I'd say research your brand first!!

Celebrex for arthritis caused a GI bleed so I switched to SAMe from ViriLife Naturals 400 mg.Each is Enteric coated and blister wrapped. Works just as well. Also helps with Fibromyalgia pain for me. Love It but other brands did not work as well.

I am back on SAMe methionin 200mgs a day for rheumatoid and fibro. It really helps me where nothing else did I was allergic to Turmeric yellow colour. I hope to afford to take 400mg some days soon. The first brand I tried made me itch with hives on neck so tried another and this does not have the side effects. If one Brand does not work try another. I tke BioCeuticals brand

I started taking this after reading alot of good reviews online. Ive had depression on and off for about 15 years, have tried SSRIs which some helped a bit but found the sode effects too much. Sam-e made my depression even worse i started sleeping all day and having suicidal thoughts. It also gave me stomach pains

Within one week of taking this medication, I couldn't believe how much better I felt. I take 1 - 400 mg pill in the morning 1/2 hour before breakfast. I have been taking it now for about 6 months, and may try taking another 400 mg pill 1/2 hour before lunch, (as I have read some people use up to 1600 mg for major depression. 800 mg seems fairly common). If normal anti-depressant medications haven't worked for you, I highly recommend you try SAM-E. It really is a life saver.

I started taking SAM-e for severe depression with anxiety. I would say fairly quickly I noticed that I was having more energy and more motivated to start doing small things. I took 200 mg to start and that seemed to work fine. while i noticed it increased my anxiety, I would rather feel amped up and anxious than tired and depressed. side effects were GI pain and sweating, but its elevating effect on my mood for periods of near euphoria were well worth it. Unfortunately, this supplement seemed to stop having the kick and efficacy after a year or so on it. I would still very much recommend this to anyone with depression.Read More Read Less

Been on this for about a year. I take on an empty stomach, 400mg-am, 400mg-pm. It has helped me tremendously. I look back to the year before I started taking it, and I vividly remember barely being able to walk, and not being able to walk on stairs well. My pain is greatly reduced and my mobility is practically back to normal. I am reluctant to stop taking it. I have recently watched my diet which also helps!

I didn't want to take prescription medicine again. Noticed I needed something because I discovered another medicine I take for pain produces serotonin in the brain gave me relief but that medicine is only for a specific pain problem and not to be taken outside of how it was prescribed. So I decided to try SAM-e after researching the supplement. I felt relief nearly immediate and normal after 3-days of taking.

Taking 200mg twice a day. Stabilized mood and feeling of wellbeing. Stopped taking NSAIDs due to huge reduction in arthritis pain. Product quality varies from totally ineffective to excellent result depending on the brand. I used "Nature Made" for about 15yrs but now find it ineffective. I suspect a change in process for cost/profit reasons. Now looking for a quality product to resume taking. In the meanwhile, my mood swings are back and my back is killing me.

I was diagnosed with depression many years ago, blood work showed that my I didn't make Saritonin. The Doctors have tried everything on me with all negative results. Most side effects of prescribed AD meds caused me to have Seizures. Then I Went through a job loss, break up and dealing with two teenagers at the same time and I couldn't get out of bed or stop crying. Someone told me about Sam-e, I started it 2 weeks later my life drastically turned around. Great stuff. 400 mg in the morning works great. The financial cost is worth it to me. Read More Read Less

A magic bullet for depression, arthritis, tendinitis, liver problems and menopause complaints. Finding right dosage is important. Mine is 800 mg. The only negative point is the PRICE.

I started taking Sam-E for ADD. My whole life has been a series of unfinished work. I have always procrastinated and always felt like I wasn't living up to my potential. Stir a few days of taking Sam-e I feel as though my life has changed for the better. Rather than walking around in circles accomplishing nothing right now enable to focus on the task at hand and finish what I'm doing before starting another project. For the first time in my life feel like a quote "normal adult". HOWEVER, I just realized that my stomach cramps and chills are due to taking SAM-E. It has been pretty horrible in that sense.
