Winnifred B. Cutler, PhD, a reproductive biologist and the codiscoverer of pheromones in humans, is president and founder of The Athena Institute in Chester Springs, Penn. After graduating cum laude from Ursinus College in 1973, Cutler earned her doctorate in biology from the University of Pennsylvania and did postdoctoral work in behavioral endocrinology at Stanford University. She has published more than 30 scientific papers and is the author of six books on women's health, which have been translated into seven languages.
