    What should I know regarding pregnancy, nursing and administering Zolmitriptan ODT to children or the elderly?

    If you are:

    Pregnant:

    Only When Necessary: INSUFF HUMAN DATA; ANIMAL STUDIES SHOW DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY W/ 280-5000 X MRHD

    Nursing:

    Precaution: INSUFFICIENT HUMAN DATA AVAILABLE; EXCRETED IN RAT STUDIES

    An adult over 60:

    management or monitoring precaution: Hepatic-Elderly patients are more likely to have decreased hepatic function thus potentially decreasing drug clearance. Cardiovascular-Assess patient for cardiovascular risk before initiating. Hypertensive effects may be more pronounced in the elderly and increase the risk for cardiovascular events in those with cardiovascular disease. Avoid use of the drug in any patient with a cerebrovascular syndrome.

    Giving zolmitriptan ODT to a child under 12:

    management or monitoring precaution: No established efficacy in pediatric migraine study.
