I am a male that had cold chills and believed to be a urinary tract infection (uti) that rarely happens in men according to the doctors. I do not know if the uti was caused by Citrobacter, but the drop down menu did give and option for uti alone. Ciprofloxacin 500mg twice a day with tamsulosin .4 mg once a day for 30 days has helped tremendously. My doctor has recommended i see a urologist and i am in the process of setting up an appointment. This is the second time i have had this happen in 2018. Read More Read Less

I was given this medication as a prophylactive after having my gall bladder removed. The surgery was painless; however I developed a bowel infection due to clostridium difficile bacteria. It took MONTHS to clear up. I had multiple courses of vancomycin, which cost over $1000 per treatment, followed by post-c diff colitis, which lasted for almost a year.
