Unlike those of yesteryear, many videos now feature instructors who are certified personal trainers and are educated in the latest research on safe techniques, says Paula Z, a personal trainer in Northern California, who runs a web site that provides exercise video reviews. "And they're passing it on in videos," she says.
Video store shelves are now packed with a myriad of exercise videos, Paula says. From the latest rendition of kickboxing, to walking routines set to big-band tunes, the near limitless choices make home exercise an even more attractive and fun option.
That's not what keeps Lane going, however. Her goals are what keep her inspired."I want to be an example to my three girls," says Lane, referring to her daughters. "I want them to think, 'If mommy can do it, I can do it too.'"
