Menopausal hot flashes, weight gain. Have noticed hot flashes diminish greatly with dim and weight loss, five pounds in two months. Feel much better and less emotional.

Assuming DIM caused my reaction as nothing else changed in my routine -- took recommended 2 cap/day dose - by evening of second dose my eyes were swollen with huge bags under my eyes and puffy lids, and a pink bumpy rash on my trunk and arms. My throat seemed raw -- I took a Benedryl and stopped taking the DIM. Took a few days for the swelling to subside.

Before taking DIM I had very heavy periods. Sometimes they would last 3 weeks at a time. After taking DIM my periods have totally stopped. I am 53. I do experience hot flashes now which I never had before taking DIM. But I am glad something finally helped with my heavy bleeding.

I have an ovarian cyst and a uterine fibroid. My periods are very heavy and painful. Started taking this to reduce that and hormonal acne. I first took it with Vitex for a few days and noticed I was spotting early. I stopped the Vitex. I continued taking the DIM for another week and stopped it. I have had my period for 15 days now. It was Smoky Mountain 200mg.

I was advised by my doctor to take this medication along with the biote hormone pellets. Everything is great on them. The hot flashes went away, have been maintaining my weight, stomach not as puffy. I ran out of the pills couldn't get for 2 weeks due to covid they said. Within those 2 weeks i came down with a rash and severe itching. It started on my chest red little bumps then spread to my arms, back and stomach. Nothing is helping the itch. I just started it again hoping the itch goes away. (not sure if it is due to this medication or just a coincidence) but after reading a couple of other posts it is probably from this.Read More Read Less

I took DIM for hormone imbalance and it was Awful! Triggered SIBO and weeks later I’m still dealing with a painful stomach and medicine, etc. do not take if you’ve had SIBO in the past.

WARNING: I heard DIM was good for adult acne. To help stabilize hormones associated so I decided to give it a go. Bought 250mg tabs from the health store. Go big or go home right. One a day was easy. I’m usually 11pm-7am sleep straight through person. I woke up at 3am 8’ EXTREME pain. The joint pain in my hips was so extreme I took Advil and Tylenol to help with it. I was up all night. I immediately put two and two together. And stopped the DIM. symptoms subsided. Months later I thought I would give it a go again but this time went and picked up 25mg tabs. And took 2. Same thing. That night woke up in extreme pain. I’m pretty tough. Birthed 5 babies with no meds and this was up there in the pain dept. Needless to say I won’t be trying it again. Read More Read Less

Taking 35 mg a day and had headaches from it the first week so be ready for that. Once you make it through the headaches, it's a life saver for endometriosis and acne.

Omg do not try! A family member recommended it for my period migraines because she said it stopped hers. I have taken it twice, and for two days have had the worst migraine I've ever had. Also diarrhea, and nausea. I would rather deal with regular period headaches, as they at least respond to medication. Nothing will stop this headache.

It's been about 2 weeks since I've started taking DIM supplement 200mg. First couple of days I did get a headache. But I haven't gotten one since. The reasons why I chose this supplement: I've been struggling with hormonal acne. My facial hair is spreading and getting thicker. I'm losing head hair by the handfuls. Tired with no energy or motivation. I am 32 female, have had children and overweight. I have endometriosis and PCOS and I'm type 1 diabetic. So far I feel so much better. I have much more energy through the day. I'm actually craving healthy food over fast food!! I can't believe it. That was actually my reason on coming on here to write this. No rash or bathroom issues here. I'm excited to see how else this medicine helps me. Read More Read Less

Premenopause. Great for hot flashes and mood. No weight loss but I do sleep better. I only take one pill/200 MG at bed time. I feel bad if I miss a dose but after a couple of days I'm back to massive hot flashes so I just take it. I like my sleep and it helps.

You have to push on past the headaches which are necessary to balance your hormones… after that I can really say DIM has changed my whole entire life! I could write a book on all it has done for me including getting rid of what I thought was IBS, gave me my energy back, got rid of brain fog, started losing weight… honestly I just can’t say enough how thankful I am that I pushed passed the headaches and on to a much better quality life!

I was prescribed 300mg/day of DIM to help reduce estrogen while on BHRT. The first time I took it I experienced horrid gastrointestinal upset for nearly 24 hours. I thought I was food poisoned it was so bad. It started with severe stomach pain, then diarrhea all evening followed by horrible gas and the stomach pain persisted all evening. I was bloated the entire following day and told myself never again when I narrowed it down to the DIM as the culprit. Please be careful with this supplement. It’s not for everyone!Read More Read Less

I have Endometriosis, since getting on a hormonal IUD to mitigate symptoms I have developed pain in my breast tissue. I've also developed a fibroadenoma (non-cancerous breast tumor). My surgeon recommended DIM to help with the pain in my breasts and within the first few weeks it helped a lot. I am noticing my cycle is a bit off and hope it finds it's new balance soon, but it's nice to be able to hug people without breast pain finally. (Brand: Zhou, Dose: 250mg daily)

Took this based on a friend recommendation to help w menopause symptoms. Almost ended up in the ER last night from the most excruciating headache and night sweats I have ever had. Only put it together that it could be this new supplement since I woke again w same symptoms. Led to my research about this pill and fully agree w other comments that this is horrible! If 2 pills can cause this what would happen with more???? I’ am deviated to read the other symptoms people have experienced and certainly hope I don’t experience those. Read More Read Less

I started taking DIM almost two weeks ago, so I will only speak to my experience so far and follow up with another review later. I am 25 years old and have had terrible hormonal cystic acne since I was a young teen. I also have digestive issues which I believe have something to do with a severe bought of anorexia/"orthorexia" I had during my teens. These digestive issues may also have something to do with my hormonal acne, since I've heard that an impaired gut microbiome can negatively impact hormonal metabolism. Topical treatments have helped slightly with my skin texture, but it became clear to me that the acne is hormonal and requires an internal solution. Previously I tried saw palmetto (which worked really well for my acne but gave me lower abdominal bloating and pain), maca (made my acne worse), and lots of spearmint tea (didn't seem to do much), among other things. I started taking low doses of DIM starting at ~25 mg/day for a few days followed by ~50 mg/day to help with my hormonal breakouts and possibly help with my IBS-C symptoms (which also tend to occur during my luteal phase). So far, it seems to have really helped with the cystic acne, but I have yet to see how the rest of my luteal phase goes since I'm just starting week 3 now. Today I have severe bloating and I have been having more gas and bloating than usual in the days before this. I'm not sure if that's from the DIM or just something I've been eating that doesn't agree with my sensitive GI tract. Will report back in a month or two!Read More Read Less

I am 55 and post menopausal for about 2 years. I started taking DIM and within 2 weeks my breasts were sore for about 2 weeks the a week later I started with cramping in my abdomen and then lower. Then came a period in which I passed tissue as well as normal period blood. I believe I was shedding the extra thick layer in my uterus that woman get post menopausal. I stopped taking it when I started bleeding and then put it all together was from the DIM. I will not take this if after menopause it causes me to have periods. So over it. Read More Read Less

Gained ten pounds in 2 weeks!! Had no side effects in the beginning. Then started experiencing bad headaches about 4 days in. Within a few days my stomach was protruding and my waist was expanding. Nothing would help. My stomach hurt constantly. The pounds just came on so fast. It is crazy! I went to my follow up appointment two weeks after starting DIM and I had gain 10 pounds! Now now have severe edema in my lower legs and ankles. Severe joint pain and a puffy face. My usually low BP was off the charts high. I cannot wait until this is out of my system. This is a HORRIBLE supplement. If a doctor suggests DIM, all I can say is RUN!! Read More Read Less

This stuff is AWFUL. Just awful. I don't know why any doctor would suggest buying this and putting it in your body. I'm 50 and going through menopause. I haven't had a period in two years. I took two doses (100 mg per dose) and now I have a full fledged period, including cramps, headache, moodiness, etc. The cramps are excruciating. This is not how supplements are supposed to work. This is dangerous. If two doses could do that to my body who knows how many three could do? Or four? This crap is going in the trash. I can't believe I wasted my hard earned money on it.Read More Read Less

I took this twice, on advice of my doctor, to help with PMS and migraines. The first time, I took 100mg a day (along with Vitex) and had no PMS, which was great, but on the first day of my period, I threw my back out (which NEVER happened before) and then experienced intense moodiness. I contacted my doc, and she recommended stopping DIM, which I did. Fast forward three months, still having migraines around my cycle, so doctor advises to add DIM back in... OK? I decided to start small with 50 mg, did that for 3 weeks and still got the migraines, in fact, they were worse and on the first day of my period, guess what? Threw my back out again! My doctor then said, perhaps I'm just not taking enough. She typically recommends 150-300 mg, so, I decide to step up to 150, but after three days of 100 mg, I'm again a moody mess with a severe migraine that won't go away. I also wonder if it affected my hormones in a way that caused some other medications I'm taking to not be as effective. Sheesh. I quit and threw pills in the trash. I was taking Nature's Way. I'm hoping my body can regulate itself and get back to baseline so I can find an actual remedy for the migraines and PMS.Read More Read Less
