I'm so sensitive to prescription drugs, & evidently to some herbal remedies as well. I took liquid hawthorn extract & within several weeks I developed heart palpitations & chest pain upon exertion. When I realized these were possible side effects from taking hawthorn, I stopped. Although these side effects are rare, they do happen to some people so be careful.

i used "planetary herbal hawthorn extract in 4FL OZ bottel" i experienced pain in my lower jaws and chest pain ,rapid heart beat ,would not recommend this product to anyone ,thought i was having a hearth attack ,effect lingered for few days ,would not go near it again ,i am a 62 years old male.

I was having chest pains & palpitations and after taking hawthorn for sometime, I don't have that problem any more. Could it be the hawthorn Or has it just subsided and went away by itself? I say its the hawthorn.....

Great BP reducer. Atenolol made me light headed and reduced my libido. Spring Valley Hawthorn 565 mg caps lowered BP much better, with no side effects.

I have Tachycardia(high HR) and Sl. high BP. My naturopathic Dr. suggested. It has helped significantly. My energy increased, less shortness of breath, HR high normal, and BP normal. I'm taking the oral/honey mixture which is pretty expensive for the amount I take-my only complaint.

I am useing Hawthorn berries for restless leg. Within two weeks my legs calmed down

even small doses made my alcohol withdrawal anxiety WORSE, but when not drinking it helps very well with my general anxiety attacks, especially the odd heart racing feelings. during alcohol DTs though, it increased the dangerous shaking that could lead to seizures. i will never take it after binge drinking, but as long as i stay away from alcohol it works amazingly well.

I have been taking hawthorne tablets,.........just after 3 days, taking the recommended dose,..........i have more energy!
