Allison Torres Burtka is a Michigan-based freelance writer and editor. She writes about health, wellness, sports, and other topics for a range of publications, including Harvard Public Health, EatingWell, Well+Good, the Guardian, Outside, and Runner’s World. She has won awards for her writing, including the 2023 Asian American Journalists Association’s Excellence in Sports Reporting Award.
Burtka is also a freelance book editor for a university press. She previously worked as an editor for a legal association.
