Emily Delzell is a freelance writer and editor for WebMD. Delzell has been creating health and medical content for more than 20 years. She was an editor for Health magazine and a senior medical editor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she produced continuing medical education materials and “Dear Doctors,” an award-winning health information column for The Birmingham News.
Delzell has worked as an independent writer and editor since 2010, producing content for both the general public and health care professionals. She has covered rheumatology and autoimmune disease extensively. As a managing editor for the American College of Rheumatology, Delzell helped develop the online courses “Fundamentals of Rheumatology” and “Advanced Rheumatology.” Her other clients have included the Arthritis Foundation, the National Psoriasis Foundation, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and Stanford University, among others.
Delzell supports her own well-being by spending time with old novels, dark chocolate, naps, and, whenever possible, time by the ocean.
