Health Equity: Breaking Barriers in Metastatic Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

While disparities exist, people should not despair. Metastatic triple negative breast cancer is treatable, and Black women respond to the treatments that we have.

The traditional approach looks at individual risk factors. But the research in general is showing that where people live has a lot to do with their health.

But once I explain … what a clinical trial is, and how there are standards of care and no one gets a sugar pill and dies, [people] are much more willing to sign up.

There are absolutely steps we can take right now to make neighborhoods healthier. We do not have to accept these disparities.
