If you are PREGNANT
- FDB Contraindicated or Not Recommended: THEORETICAL RISK BASED ON DRUG MECHANISM OF ACTION
If you are NURSING
- Absolute Contraindication: OTHER SIMILAR DRUGS EXCRETED INTO BREAST MILK; CAUTION ADVISED
If you are an adult over 60
- management or monitoring precaution: Renal- Adjust starting dose and do not exceed a maximum of 2 mg/day for CrCL<60 mL/min. Hepatic-Monitor hepatic transaminases. Musculoskeletal-Elderly patients greater than age 65 may be at increased risk for myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
Giving Livalo to a child under 12
- management or monitoring precaution: Study demonstrated efficacy in age > 6 years. Manufacturer states safety and efficacy not established in age < 8 years.
