I was in the hospital with stomach bleeding, I have 3 ulcers. Nobody told me this risk by this medication. I am not happy about this. Who is the responsible person??? Regards Martha Peschel, Las Vegas NV

I have arthritis in my elbow, and I have been on this medication for a month. I have started gaining visiable water wight. I also have been having a tightening in my chest and sever night sweats.

took 5days rushed to hospital, blood stools, ulers, needed blood ,2 pints almost died.

I have several different issues with my digestive system. After 5 days started getting severe diarhia. I am going to stop taking, this medicine should not be prescribed to people with digestive tract issues.

Played college football and have had major ankle and shoulder surgery. I have Osteo-pubitis that causes back and hip pain, I have plantar faciitis. This medicine has made the differnce in my life after sports. I can sleep with out aching and enjoy my evenings relitively pain free.

I have psoriatic arthritis, and severe back pain. The only pain meds I can take is darvocet (tylenol) because anything else causes bleeding. I've been on piroxicam for a few months now and starting to get tightness and severe bloating in my stomach, but I have IBS and many other digestive issuse so I am pretty much use to that stuff ( but if your not, this medication is not for people with sensitive stomaches). The symptom that Im most concerned with is that Im experiancing continuos tingling serges thoughout my body with any kind of body movement, that distorts and throws me off balance. The closest thing I can relate it to is when getting an epideral, the moment they first tap into your spine, you get a quick but very strong shot of tingles down the left side of you. I have arthritis in my hip and a bad back (rods and broken fusion) with pinched nerves and 3 bulging disks. My hip doctor gave me this medicine and I was surprised at how well it worked, and quickly too. While it did not take the pain away totally, it is at least manageable now and I feel better.

Made me very tired, even after a month of use. I'm a truck driver, so it wasn't for me. Had to stop taking.

I took this medicine for 6 months. I used it for severe lower back pain and it worked great until i ended up in the emergency room bleeding from my anus. It was also acconpanied by stomach pain and diareah. On a good note, my back pain was helped greatly.

I have a hernitaded disc in my back and I was have some Problems the past few weeks in my back my Dr. perscibe this medication to me and if you cannot take NSAIDS like me this mediction is not for you I have Upper GI bleeding ( Gerd ) and my Dr. wanted to try this med and it cause me to Bleed from my mouth and in my stools and it has cause SERVER stomach pain where I ended up at the hopital twice because of the pain and I was only taking it 1 time a daty and the dose was only 20Mg. it can cause blood clots which can cause a heart attack and or a stroke. now that my Dr. has given this to me I took my self of it after a week and now I have to go for all kind of testing now to see how much damaged it did to my stomach, I was couching up blood and waking up with blood in my mouth and having blood in my stool, SO PLEASE BECAREFUL when taking this medication, yes everyone body is different but I had a very hard time with it, also it can make you very sleepy and light headed it does help alittle for chronic pain but some side affect do affect some people but some do and it did to me just wanted to let you folks know about this medication make sure you talk to your Dr. if you have stomach problems before taking this medcation , because again now I couching up blood and having bloody stools and now I have to go for a series of test to see what kind of more damaged it done to my stomach just after taking it for a week, My new PCP has many concerns and he wasnt happy with my old PCP. I take it for OA, been on it for just a couple of weeks, after trying a few different nsaids. Helps my hands and fingers not hurt, but I still have pain in my toe and foot, that has not changed any.

I have been taking this med for over 4 years with no side effects and great results for my oesteoarthritis. I used to take vioxx, and this is an acceptable substitute for the arthritis pain. I also take a minimum dose of vicodin when needed, but the anti-inflamitory agent in the piroxicam is helpful and it is very affordable. It is on the Wal-Mart list of $4.00 for a 30 day supply, and that helps! I have not noticed any side effects in the years I have been taking the med.

IT WORKS VERY WELL. I HAVE HAD NO TROUBLES WITH THIS MEDICINE.

I have been on this medicine for about 2 weeks, and have regained most of the use of my thumbs. I can now snap my fingers for the first time in 10 years, not as loud perhaps as I did 15 yrs. ago but certainly better! I get through most days without now having to take other pain relievers.
