I have a cough due to a mild cold or allergies- the post nasal drip kills me at night and I cannot sleep due to the cough. These pills are great- they work fast, dry me up, relax the cough nicely. This is the second time I have used them. No side effects- I highly recommend this med.

I had a cough for the better part of a year. For about 4 months I was pregnant and my OB never suggested this (don't know about safety during pregnancy), but my regular doctor prescribed it to me in January and for the first time I didn't cough!!! I am going to ask for a prescription to keep on hand in case of a cough. It's the best thing I have ever taken. Cough medicines didn't last long enough and weren't as effective as this!

Very expensive for little or no benefit.

I have used this medicine for over 10 years whenever I have a cold with a persistent cough. I have asthma as well as acid reflux. I am also very sensitive to decongestents. They raise my blood pressure to dangerous levels. This medicine works wonderfully. My cough eases up within 15 minutes usually.Because of how quiclky it works, my doctor has me use it when I have a severe asthma attack. It can often stop me from needing to go to the ER (DO NOT do this without your doctor's permission) It does not upset my stomach or raise my blood pressure. I do have chronic headaches, and this does increase them a bit, but nothing like other medicines for coughs. This supresses the cough, but is not a decongestent. So, if it's that type of cough I have my doctor has me use Tessalon and a low dose OTC medicine. I did accidentally bite one open once. As the instructions say, don't do that. I had a persistent dry cough for a number of months that included a tickling sensation in my throat and wheezing. My dr. prescribed the perles and in a matter of a couple of weeks I was totally relieved of all symptoms and my airway felt clear & very refreshed. I highly recommend this remedy to all folks I hear hacking & coughing the same dry cough I experienced.

This medication was prescribed to me since my stomach is normally not happy most prescribed liquid cough meds. This pill defiantly stopped the coughing so I could finally get a decent nights rest. I will defiantly ask for this next time a cough suppressant is needed.

I was subject to a chronic cough for many years. Until being prescribed Tessalon Perles, most doctors would only prescribe codeine-base suppressants. I was extremely pleased with Tessalon's efficacy, which came without unwanted side effects for me.

Stuffy nose, cough, sore throat ( no temp.) had flu and pneumonia shots. Am NID diabetic with high blood pressure on statins for elevated cholesterol so agressively taking this cough down was what my doctor suggested. In TWO days, after taking my med. every four hours, I have no cough, no sore throat and no stuffy nose. However, my family physician informed me not to chew the med., but swallow the med intact. Worked wonders for me!

this is a great daytime cough suppressant. it really works and is non narcotic. for nightime coughing fits i recommend tussionex, then in the day using this product as it is non sedating. worked great, no side effects, but wears off kinda quickly.

Taking it as presribed to help break up congestion in the chest. Haven't reaaly noticed all the much lessened congestion after a month on the drug.

While this drug worked for me and was easy to take I awoke the two mornings of the nights I took it in a state of near panic unsure where I was. It was as if I were in an altered state of consciousness, close to sleep walking, which I've never done before. I just kept saying that I wasn't sure why I couldn't breathe or where I was and feeling as if I were putting my body together piece by piece. That feeling remained with me for some time while fully conscious. I have been on this medication for 2 weeks and I'm still coughing horribly.

This was a new medication to me,and once I took it I threw up.

After taking tessalon my cough stopped quickly and is giving my chest muscles a rest.

Few years ago, I had a tickle in my throat with constant coughing. The Tessalon worked wonders with the tickle. Once the tickle was gone so was the coughing. Presently, the dr gave an Rx for 200mg. It is not working. With the med, the cough is much lower in my chest and now I am having to use my lower abdomen muscles trying to cough. So I'm just suffering with the cough, trying to drink more warm liquids and have use a complete bottle of ibuprofen for the pain and soreness due to all the coughing. Only medication I've used for coughing that helps - especially at night and I'm not aware of experiencing any side effects.

My husband used these to treat the cough that he had as a result of pneumonia, and he was very happy with them!

Had bronchitis for two weeks and was waking up repeatedly from the cough. Took these for the first time yesterday and finally got a few hours of sleep.

I had an upper respiratory infection and was prescribed these. It says you can take up to 3 a day, but I only took one a day and cough was gone, and i didnt have to use my inhaler for the rest of the time period because i wasnt coughing so much. Deff recomend this

Night cough for years. Tried humidifiers, air filters. FINALLY. a new Dr. offered a script. It works. However, they are slippery little things and tend to fall unseen when filling a pill box.
