I was prescribed this after a miserable 7 months with what was eventually diagnosed as IBS. I had a CT scan, numerous doctors appointments, etc., for lower-left abdominal pain that would last all day, every day. It was pretty much all I thought about all day for those months. I was finally referred to a GI who prescribed this medication, and within days of taking this medication twice a day as directed, I was nearly perfect with almost no pain. This drug saved my life. If I forget to take it for a day (it's happened...), I'm quickly reminded when the pain starts coming back. I appear to be one of the lucky ones...I guess I feel a little "drier" than I usually was, but it's very mild, and I have no other side effects. I am SO thankful this medicine exists!Read More Read Less

I am having a very sensitive tongue on the verge of sore. I'm wondering if this can be a result of the Hyomax .375 I am taking twice daily or not. Is anyone else experienceing this?

I have been taking this drug for six months. I have notice some side effects such as,blurred vision, skin rash (that had to be addressed by the doctor),dilated pupils, eye sinsability to the sun. But the medicine seems to be the best we have now available to use.

I took the med, but it did not help my pain in my lower left side. I took cipro and flagyl before this next step is a colonoscopy.

I was given this medication for severe stomach pain. It has been a life saver. I do feel a bit wired and dehydrated, but I would take that any day over the pain that I was experiencing. I have only been on the medicine for one week. It works within 1/2 hr. I have lived in pain for 5 years, I cant believe that none of my "ologists" put me on this medication!! Watch out for the drug interactions though, There are a lot, and a bit of constipation. Stool Softners help. Overall, great medicine for my needs...so far. Read More Read Less

I've had IBS for 15 years and it started when I was really young. I was actually told by many doctors it was all in my head. Finally I saw a specialist and was given Hyomax-SL to try for a couple of months. I tried Dicyclomine first and it made me feel really buzz! The Hyomax-SL worked great only had to take it twice a day and I barely had any episodes with the pills. So when I went back to the Doc to get the pills for a longer period of time he gave this brand Hyoscyamine which is the dissolve under tongue kind and it has not worked for me at all! My IBS is back the way it was before, extreme pain and after almost every meal! I don't get it, they are supposed to be the same kind of pills! I really like how easy it is to take but it is not helping me any! I am going back to the doc soon and try to the other brand back again! Read More Read Less

The medication has decreased the intensity of my abdominal pain but not fully suppressed it. It has made life more tolerable and easier to engage into. The only downside that I have experienced is a high level of dry mouth and an over-drying effect of my nasal cavities. The feeling of needing to blow my nose and nothing coming out.

I have been taking this med for sometime and at first it was doing a good job, although it puts me to sleep. Now it doesn't even put me to sleep or ease the pain.

I was recently diagnosed with IBS and prescribed this med along with Amitizia and an Antibiotic called Septra... Suddenly I started having severe side effects blurred vision, dizziness, and felt very wired.. After discussing with doctor we decided that while on the antibiotic I was not to take the Hyoscyamine and that did the trick.. it is the best drug in the world it completely stopped the severe abd. cramping... so for all of you having some issues discuss with your doctors and make sure that an unusual side effect is happening with you before you give up... Now dry mouth, not sweating is still around but it is definately worth it... My life is much better..... And my little ones dont have to witness moms severe pain... thanksRead More Read Less

Have had post-herpetic neuralgia for 2 years. Took Lyricia for many months with some relief, but felt unsteady, lethargic most of the time. My Wife, remembered when she was treated for spastic colon, Hyoscyamine, thought my discomfort was very similar and wanted me to try it. I did and am amazed at the results I received with "occasional" use. Take Advil or Alleve, 2 tabs, most of the time.

It completely stops the severe cramping and frequent bowel movements associated with IBS with no apparent side effects. I could not be productive during my day without it.

Was prescribed for IBS after a horrendus, damaging stomach virus. Drug works like a miracle! Script lapsed, within a couple of days, I was absolutely miserable. I just make sure I'm hydrated, and still eat nutrionally well. Little or no side effects...and I'm the side effect Queen!
