I write this with the intention to share my experiences with the highly potent and very addictive medication, Fentanyl. I myself use the Duragesic Patches (by Janssen), I have found through trail and error that the patches Fentanyl (the Generic brands by other companies just don't have the same Strength or potency as this brand name I use). I have unfortunately been on the patches for what seems l...

I have chronic headaches with back and neck pain. I went to a pain mgt center and the doctor there put me on the patches. It did relieve some of my pain but not all of it. I was still taking lortab through the whole expirence. However when my doctor cut patients and I was one of them, I had a very hard time weining my self off of them. I felt as if I had the flu...sick, dizzy, nervous, stomache problems..just a lot of bad. Lortab has worked 10 times better for me.

Herniated discs in back and neck. I have the low dose 12. It doesn't do much by its self, have to take Vicodin ES with it to reduce the pain. But that doesn't work all that well.

I had 5 herniated discs in my back. I had 3 vertebrae totally fused together with disc removal. This medication has been a lifesaver. My pain could not be controlled by oral medication. I can now function more and am not bedridden as prior to this medication.

very strong medication. I was diagnosed with failed back surgery syndrome & degenerative disk disorder. I have had some side effects, but they are generaly mild and the benefits far outweigh them. I am concerned about the wrongful death lawsuits and needless to say I will be following the developments in the litigation carefully.

This is the only medication that I have been able to take to help treat my fibromyalgia and allow me to continue working. I only work and sleep, but at least I feel useful now.

The name brand patch stays on better than the generic & is more effective. Although the patch causes excessive sweating, it is working using for the pain. It is highly addictive & when not changed within the 72 hours I have experienced nausea and extreme tiredness. I recommend that the patch be placed under the breast to make sure that it stays on.

Using this to treat pain of Neuropathy. Works well, but the patches themselves are difficult to keep in place. Sometimes difficult to manage with bathing, showering, etc. However, the pain relief is good and keeps the relief levels fairly consistant, which is what I was looking for. Only issue I've experienced is itching. I've had to add Benedyrl to my meds to keep the itching to a tolerable level.
