I love my Wellbutrin. Originally I was perscribed a twice daily routine but once daily was actually more effective for me. As far as side effects at first it actually decreased my appetite tremendously but that wore off over time. The biggest thing to remember with this drug, or any antidepressant, it takes at least 4 weeks for the effects to really be seen. Also if the depression is being caused ...

I take 200 mg 2x day. Have been on this for over 15 years. Other medications didn't work for me. It took time to get used to taking a pill 2x a day on a regular basis. I notice when I miss pills & can't function at work without them.

I took this drug for chronic depression, as prescribed by my psychologist and I experienced worsening depression. The warning label says that those under 25 may experience counter-active side effects, but I found that this drug made me feel much more depressed and I never had suicidal thoughts before then, but I did after taking the drug. Because these feelings only worsened with time, I opted to get off of the drug and although I experienced some mild panic attacks for a while after, I eventually was able to overcome my depression while staying off the drug. Would not recommend for those under 25 at all! There have been some cases of people killing themselves after using this drug.Read More Read Less

I've been on this medication for about three weeks and have had really positive results. I'm switching from the generic version of Celexa, which really didn't do much for me. The first couple of days, I was jittery and anxious, and also a little foggy, but now I've leveled out. I'm sleeping well and my interest in things I used to love is coming back. I'm stepping away from having that feeling of impending doom constantly and I love that. All-in all I think it's a very effective drug. I feel clear-headed and focused.Read More Read Less

I started wellbutrin sr, for anxiety and mood disorder. I dont wake up yelling anymore. I can enjoy my kids without being upset with them being kids. Down sides are I have very bad dry mouth but now I drink more water. also if i do not take my pills within 11 hours of eachother i get a very bad migrain. I get migrains due to anxiety. so wellbutrin has also helped with those on occasion i use lemicatal. over all i am very happy. I think i may up to 150 instead of 100 but i am happy and so is my familyRead More Read Less

I have had some difficulty keeping my focus levels the same from day to day. But the benefits have been greater than the problems. Also this medication has no sexual side effects that many other anti-depressants have on me.I would recommend this drug to people who have had problems with other medications that caused my previous side effects.

I am beside myself. This medication works better than every anti-depressant I've ever been on (and trust me, I've been through the ringer). The one thing that bothers me about the medication is my mouth is extremely dry. The dry mouth is so bad I'm considering asking for a medication adjustment.

I was on prozac but could not have an orgasm so DR. told me to switch to welbutrin because of less side effects with labido. well I just started it 2 days ago and I feel no different. I have high anxiety and feel very moody and depressed. Dr. did prescribe me xanax to take with it for anxiety. I hope this works for me. I'm on the generic version.

I've been on Wellbutrin SR 150 mg., for only a month, the dose was recently bumped up to 2 tabs daily. I take it for multiple reasons, and my body's still adjusting to it so I'm having about all the discomforts others have already mentioned. But one thing I didn't expect is relief from chronic back pain caused by pinched lumbar nerves! I taken opioids for pain for over a year but haven't had any in 2 weeks now. I'm elated! Opioids don't stop the pain of pinched nerves, they just make you sleep your life away. I pray my body will adjust the the drug so the side effects will sub-side or at least lessen cause this is the first time I've been pain free in years.Read More Read Less

I've been on Bupropion SR 100 mg 2x a day for about 4 1/2 weeks and so far I'm not sure it's working for me. I took it a few years ago in conjunction with therapy and it worked wonders- motivated, happy, less stressed. I also don't really remember any side effects. Since I've started taking it again (for depression/ADD/SAD)I haven't been feeling too much of a difference, in fact I have felt more easily moved to tears, moodier, still stressed, and even less social. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not currently in therapy, if it's interacting with my birth control, or if I just need to wait a few more weeks. Also side effects- first few weeks I would get very anxious and my hands would shake very badly which affected my job (dog grooming)that has since subsided and isn't as much of an issue. Loss of appetite, which isn't horrible but it gives me a weird feeling in my stomach, not nausea, almost feels like hunger but eating doesn't help. This has also gotten a bit better as time goes by. I'm hoping that if I just wait it out it will sort itself out, I don't see how it could have worked so well for me before and not now... Will update in a few weeksRead More Read Less

I've only been taking Wellbutrin SR for 4 days. So far I have had some nasty side effects! I've had headaches, bad attitude, and very depressed! I was not depressed when I started this! I am going to hang on for a bit because I have been diagnosed with very poor circulation and very high red blood cell counts. Thank you guys for posting! It's given me a lot of hope!

I have returned to mental health, after a deep and dark depression that led to suicidal intent. Tried Prozac (which made me a wee bit manic), Celexa (which made me sluggish and disconnected) and finally, Wellbutrin SR which has been a godsend. I really feel like myself and am delighted that all negative thoughts, suicidal and otherwise (i.e., self-doubts) are essentially gone. I continue to work with an excellent therapist and, after the better part of two years, I am thinking that I may be well enough to begin weaning off the every other week sessions. Pretty good for a man whose paternal grandfather AND paternal uncle both committed suicide. I am dedicated to my conviction that the depressive streak stops with me.Read More Read Less
