Started taking on friday by monday I could hardly walk from joint pain. Gave me in place of Bactrum beause it made my mouth burn. Rather have the mouth burning.

Was given this drug as most others were not sensitive to the bacteria. Had to stop after 3 doses as I developed headache, chills, and achy joints as well as gas and nausea. The more doses I took, the worse I felt. Disappointing and scary.

I had flu like symptoms, my bones hurt so much could hardly get out of bed.

UTI, good drug, on it for two days and have great relief. I have a five day protocol and it is a good drug.

I am allergic to bactrim and cipro. My dr. has me on a low dose of 1-100 mg capsule nightly. It is working for me.

I had fever, chills, headache, extreme nausea, muscle aches - I felt like I had the flu! 3 months later, I have another UTI and the same things happened, only add in hives. Called my Dr. and am getting amoxicillin tomorrow. I would rather have a UTI than be in bed for a week feeling like I have the flu!

Warning! Don't let your dr. tell you this drug doesn't have side effects, I've tried 3 times to take it twice on 500 mg and once on 100 mg all three times I've landed in the hospital, in range of stay from 2 to 4 days. After taking (1) pill within 8 hours I started with a 103 fever, muscle pain in my back and leg I couldn't stand and vomiting, I've tried it 3 times and each time my hospital stay was longer, some people just can't take this drug, and I'm one.

Only able to take three capsules. Scheduled to take every twelve hours. By noon the day of the third capsule, developed chills, fever, joint pain and headache. By the time I made it to the Dr. my fever was 101.7. Dr could find nothing wrong, denied possibility of it being medication related. Went home started stairstepping Tylenol and Ibuprofen. At 1 a.m., work up totally drenched with sweat(?) Required total clothing change and linens as well. Discontinued medication and by noon the next day all fever, chills, joint aches, headache gone. the medication is working but i have horrible head aches and my jaw and in front of my ears are swelling tremendously!!!

I have always had cronic UTI's. If I feel one coming on now I take 1 as soon as I feel it and one 12 hours later and then I'm good to go. I've never noticed ANY side effects from it and I love knowing I have something to stop me from being in pain for days! :)

I have been on the this medication for over two years now and find that it works when I take it on a regular basis. If I miss a few days and have sex with my husband during that time, I get a painful UTI infection and have to quickly take the medication to stop the pain of the UTI. Over time it has lost how effective it is on my UTI's and preventing them. I am having a harder time getting rid of the symptoms now and it seems it is no longer preventing the UTI from occurring after sexual intercourse. Read More Read Less

I might be rating this too soon ( I am only on day 1), but I had some symptoms similiar to some of the other reviews. I felt a bit of a heat rush, relatively mild, and possibly some mild itching. I was wondering if anyone else experienced a neon yellowing of their urine or some intermittent discomfort of the right side of their pelvis while taking this medication? I should note: The results of the lab testing are not back, but I am taking this for a suspected UTI.

Taking this med for Urinary tract infection, only been on it for 5 days of 7 day dosage at 2x per day. I have had really severe nausea first few days and headaches these last few days. Hopefully it will be worth it.

After taking two pills I experienced burning and tingling in my feet. I called my Dr. who said that that can be common and the symptoms go away after 48 hours of stopping the meds. I told him I was diabetic and concerned but they wouldn't put me on another med. I took the med for 7 days. It cleared up my UTI but 7 days after finishing the meds, I now have severe nerve damage in my body, very bad pain in my feet and legs, and pain in my arms and hands. I can hardly walk across the room. I was walking 45 minutes a day so this has totally impacted my life. If you are diabetic, think twice about taking this drug.Read More Read Less

For five days I took it 4x's daily had no problems, once I started taking it once a day i broke out in hives, numbness of my hands & legs & dizziness. I'm calling the doctor

i get chronic uti's and this is the only things that works,i get a little sleepy but thats it.

My doctor put me on 100 mg of this medication a day for 6 months to prevent UTI's. I have taken it now for about a month and a half. I have had no side effects, and haven't had a UTI since I've started it.

I was getting major headaches. With other medications, I have noticed some relief in 24 hours but not with this.

I had a prostate infection that had been treated previously (several times) with ciprofloxacin. The symptoms always went away but then came back. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Im on day 8 and Im very ill, dont know if i have the common cold or if its from this medication, all my symptoms match the side effect label, bad chills , cough , fever , Im stopping this medication today
