After reading all the reviews I was scared to take this. So, I made sure to drink a full glass of water before I took it and right before bed. I took it with lunch and with dinner, in the middle of the meal. I never experienced any symptoms and took two a day for one week.

DO NOT take this if you are allergic to sulfa drugs. I only took for two days and I had a severe allergic reaction to this medicine. My eyes started turning black/purple....looked like I had not slept in weeks. Chills so bad my teeth chattered and my entire body was shaking. Excruciating body aches all over my body, as if my muscles were being ripped out of my body and I started having a horrible...

Had to get an additional 2 day dose because med did not seem to be working. I experienced significant diarrhea, nausea and increased vertigo while on it. Now I have a crazy outbreak of hives, although I did not see any mention of hives in the other reviews. I will not be taking this med again- it did not seem to be as effective as Cipro.

I have been taking this for a UTI for a couple days. I have IBS and this medication has caused a flare up. I have severe stomach and intestinal pain, nausea, headache. I may call to get a replacement but I wanted to give a warning to other sufferrers of IBS or Chrons to please bring these issues up prior to taking said medication.

I have experienced UTIâ??s over the past 7 years or so. To date maybe had 6 in total. First time I took meds I had immediate relief and no side effects. I have now determined that the last two times in 2020 and 2021 witching hours after taking the first dose I became extremely ill. Symptoms hit without warning, felt like the worst flu of my life. Scary because I had chest, back and stomach pain and it hurt to breathe deep. I also had fever and chills, extreme nausea and headaches. Iâ??ll be sure to ask my doctor for something different in the future. Trying to finish these pills but not sure I can, I just feel beyond horrible. Read More Read Less

I read reviews online for hours and was really nervous to take this due to antibiotics in the past hurting my stomach. I took it with food and it’s been 4 hours and feel fine :) doesn’t hurt to pee anymore. Trusted my doctor!!!!

Warning...may cause severe pain in stomach. I have Crohn's with very sensitive intestines, especially lately. I needed a good drug for my UTI as it was returning on previous treatment..Keflex. My Dr suggested changing meds as they often stop working when taken repeaditly. I tried this and within a few short hours the pain was extraordinarily severe. It lasted from 10:30am thru 1:00am and only lessoned with Diluaded..4mg.With Crohn's in a severe state( 45yrs and strictured throughout small intestine) I must be very careful. Keflex never bothered me. This had me nearly to the ER and if we didn't happen to be in a pandemic, I would have gone. Anyway, just be careful with this if you have any IBS and sensitive intestines.I will be alerting my Dr first thing am to change it immediately.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this medication for a UTI and it helped immediately with absolutely no side effects. I'm so glad my doctor chose this antibiotic.

I had to write because of all the scary reviews here. I hate taking drugs but this infection was severe. Within 2 days I was normal with no side effects. Usually, antibiotics make me more sick, but not this time. I feel such relief that I trusted my good doctor and took this after waiting to see if the infection would burn itself out. It did not. I needed this great med!

I was prescribed this med for a persistent URI. The very first dose, within thirty minutes, I had severe shortness of breath, chills, my chest hurt and body aches. Ended up calling 911 because I could not breath. I was taken to the ER, tears were ran, everything normal. I was put on oxygen, nebulizer treatments and steroids. After nine hours I felt somewhat better so I was released. Next day, I took another dose. Same thing happened. 911 called, another ER visit. The shortness of breath scared the crap out of me. I didnâ??t realize it was side effects of this drug until I read the pamplet that came with it. I called my pharmacist and asked if my symptoms were a common side effect of this drug. He confirmed many people who take it have the same reaction. I called my PCP and told him of my experience that landed me in the ER twice. He now wants me to see a pulmonary doctor, which is next week. Heâ??s not convinced I had a reaction to this drug. Iâ??m telling you I did. I am fine now. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!! Itâ??s dangerous. I put down somewhat satisfied & somewhat effective in that I now read, on line, do not take with magnesium. I do take magnesium at night so now I don't know how effective the med is.

One of the common side effects is dizziness and feeling drowsy. Not sure why, but I got this to the extreme. Had to stop after 6 tablets, so UTI symptoms returned within a couple of days (new meds going ok). 3 days completely bedridden with extreme vertigo, nausea, nystagmus. Definitely brought on by the MacroBID as there was an increase in dizziness and drowsiness a few hours after each dose. Wish Iâ??d stopped one dose sooner when I could still stand up!! The 6th tablet was the killer one. Will be on vertigo meds and balance rehab for a good while. Anyone with a history of vertigo (Iâ??ve previously had viral labyrinthitis twice) do ask questions and be careful in case it makes you more sensitive! Iâ??ve reported it via yellow card system and there are many others. Good luck!Read More Read Less

These online reviews were so scary to me, so I'm back to review with my experience and maybe it'll help someone else not be so anxious. I can tell you that letting bacteria run rampant in your body is probably much more dangerous than taking this med. I had a little stomach upset the first day but started feeling better after 2 doses. Im finished with it now and so thankful for this medicine. I'm feeling 100% better!

I’ve been taking this for about 3.5 days, and it has made me feel like I am dying. Since the first day, I’ve had difficulty breathing/shortness of breath, chest pain, and rapid heartbeat. It took me a few days to realize it was possibly this medication, and reading other reviews confirmed it for me. I asked my doctor of possible side affects before she prescribed it, and she said there should be none! Be careful! It seems to have cleared the UTI, but I will not be taking it again!

Very picky about what goes in my body since being floxed with a Levaquin and steroid IV cocktail. I made sure the NP didn't prescribe me any fluoroquinolones. Not sure what I'll expect from this prescription other than to do its job and rid me of a UTI but for the people leaving a bad review on this drug, be thankful you weren't prescribed Cipro and if you were, you may want to start doing your homework on the negative, side effects, and being floxed from just 1 Cipro pill. Knowledge is power!
