This is day 9 of being smoke free. This stuff is amazing! I did a lot of research on this drug and was terrified by all the side effects. I take it with food as everyone advised and I am fine. The dreams are ususally really amusing and can be remembered vividly upon waking. One thing I did as I am 125 pounds and can be sensitive to drugs is that I would break the starter pills in half and take par...
This is the first time we know of that aggression/violence has been clearly documented as a side effect in a peer reviewed scientific journal. This raises the question of whether (Chantix) is suitable for use in the military, by police and others who are already in stress situations. One key characteristic of these events is uncontrollable rage. Not a good side effect for people paid to carry guns...
I have had severe nausea since beginning this medication but it does help with the craving for cigarretes.

I found out I have emphasema during a pre-op exam this summer which required I see a pulmonary specialist (no cancer, thank God!). She recommended Chantix. My husband and I both smoked over 40 years (him 3 pks a day, me 1). After only 1 month of treatment, we are both cigarette free and have been for 4 months. There are occasional cravings, but easy to overcome. I have had no side effects. Considering the stress of having a spinal fusion, having to buy a new house, and finding out my 11 year old Doberman named Sugar has diabetes all during the same time frame, I consider this remarkable. I am 60 years old and cigarette free for the first time since I was 15. I don't know what I would have done without this drug. My husband and I tried everything from cold turkey to hypnosis, and nothing else worked. Thank you.Read More Read Less

AFTER TAKING THIS MEDICINE FOR ONLY 1 WEEK I WAS READY TO BE DONE WITH CIGARETTES! I HAVE NOT HAD 1 CRAVING OR URGE TO SMOKE. I ONLY TOOK THE STARTER PRESCRIPTION (1 MONTH)AND FOUND THIS TO BE A MIRACLE PILL. NO WEIGHT GAIN, WEIRD DREAMS, AND SLIGHT NAUSEA DURING THE 1ST WEEK. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS MEDICATION TO EVERYONE. I HAVE HEARD OF THE BAD NIGHTMARES AND NASUEA BUT LUCKILY DID NOT ENCOUNTER THEM.

Chantix got me to quit smoking, but it also caused me to be nausiated and depressed. So if you can stick out the nausa for a few weeks, you WILL quit smoking. Overall I would rather be nausiated once a day for a few weeks than develop lung cancer!

I've smoked for 40 years, and have been trying to quit for 20. I tried everything. Chantixmade it so easy. It saved my life. My only problem was remembering to take my evening dose!

I have taken Chantix for 2 months, I felt more depressed and started to have panic attacks (thought I had a heart attack). My friend said exactly the same happened to her about 3 weeks ago

Made quitting smoking almost easy. If taken with food, it didn't bother my stomach at all. No other noticable side effects. My insurance didn't cover the cost, but it was worth every penny. Still smoke free.

The first week i experienced nausea and headaches. Now I find that I have trouble falling asleep, and once I do it's hard for me to get up in the morning. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results.

This is the worse medicine I have ever taken. It sure helps my smoking. But everyday I had nausea and then started vomiting. If one can take it it does work. You still have to have self control to stop but unfortunately for me the side effects were too bad to continue.

This is what I've been waiting for since it's the first one I have found that doesn't raise the BP. The only side effects I've had is nausea and I control it with food or a cracker.

I only took the drug for 3 weeks and quit because one of the side effects of the drug is insomnia and I did get it. I have quit smoking for 7 months now and still have insomenia, which is minor compared to the risks of smoking.

After years of smoking and numerous quits this week has been 6 months. It worked for me. Five months, four weeks, 20 hours, 48 minutes and 37 seconds. 7274 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,818.25. Life saved: 3 weeks, 4 days, 6 hours, 10 minutes.

I tried the patch and Zyban to quit smoking with no success. I was given a starter pack from my doctor. After I completed the first week titration and started the second week, I was able to quit. No withdrawal, no cravings, no nothing. Lucky for me, the only side effect I had was the dry mouth. A stick of gum or crushed ice cured that. I would recommend this type of treatment to anyone who wants to quit smoking. Quite frankly, since the government is making "every where" designated as no smoking, I think the government should make it mandatory that all health insurance plans/prescription drug plans cover this medication. Afterall, it does work. Read More Read Less

This drug helped me finally quit smoking. Though the dreams I had while on the medicine were absurd and frightening. Sleep was a major problem for me. I only took the medicine for two weeks but remain cig free.
