I mixed mine with cold ginger ale. I drank it very quickly with a straw, then followed up with two containers of very cold water. The first dose started working within an hour. I did experience slight dizziness which passed quickly and extreme chills. I had only soft diet for three days prior so I was pretty much clear before second dose. Stay very close to bathroom, no cramping. I did feel it was...

Mild bowel movement only despite following doctor's instructions. "Only share your first hand experience..." I think you mean to say "Share only your first hand experience."

Absolutely disgusting taste. I had to hold my nose to get it down without throwing up. I also added some lemon taste powder to the water and mixed it in. I also hate to drink water and having to drink 16 oz of utter disgusting vileness, followed by 32 oz. of water was terribly difficult for me. To think I have to do it again is abhorrent.

Extremely difficult to drink. Very sweet and salty. Made me gag. Not an easy colonoscopy prep.

I was concerned about the prep initially as I felt it wasn't working that well after the 1st bottle. but,oh boy!! After the 2nd bottle - it worked very well. Make sure you dilute it with ice cold water - not just cool water. Drink it as quickly as you can & try not to breathe thru your nose while you are drinking. It tasted like cherry cough syrup.

This is was my first time having a colonoscopy. I have to say that I was very worried about taking the prep. I am not good with taking medicine especially flavored. I must say that this was not anywhere near as bad as I thought. Of course, the taste was not great. It tasted like very salty cough medicine. I found that it was much better to tolerate if you did not gulp it down. I used a straw and drank about ten big sips each time, and then I would drink some water (it clears the taste away), I would also then sip on some orange Gatorade or take a bite of a orange Popsicle. I used the whole hour to get it all down instead of drinking it quickly and getting nausea like others have done. I was totally fine and did not feel sick. I am a small person and do not drink big amounts of water normally. I started at 5 PM, and it started working by 6 PM and lasted until about 8. There was no pain or cramping at all. The next morning I started at 2 AM (I had to be there at 6 AM for a 7 AM procedure). That lasted until about 4:15 AM. All went well, and I really feel it really wasn't all that bad. Vile awful tasting. Had a hard time getting it down without vomiting. You would think by now that they would have come up with a better prep for colonoscopys than this stuff. the procedure itself is nothing. The prep is just disgusting.

I have only used this once, and have never had another colonoscopy, so I have nothing to compare it to. That said, I found this to be easier to use than I was expecting, and my doctor said my cleanse was good. It does taste absolutely vile - like salted, watered-down dimetap. Use a straw, and chase it with something (I used water, followed by a piece of mint gum). It nauseated me a bit, but I had heard that if you can keep it down for 30 minutes, it will do it's job. I focused on keeping it down, and I did. I was not able to completely finish either dose - there was probably 1 ounce remaining in each, but that was sufficient for me to get a good cleanse (I am a 135lb woman, for reference's sake. I assume a large enough person would need the whole dose). Each dose took about 25 minutes to kick in, and had mostly died down by an hour after that. The cleanse was painless. I did start eating lightly several days before, and I think that helped. I also stayed super hydrated before, during, and after (until my directions said to stop drinking) the cleanse, and then again after the procedure. I used a lot of gatorade to replace lost electrolytes, but a lot of water, too. No headache or other symptoms of a cleanse "hangover." Read More Read Less

this was my first colonoscopy. I started eating light foods 2 days prior to procedure. I am a female, 5'2", 105 lbs. Day of prep was 2 popsicles, some jello, and 1/2 cup of broth. I started my first bottle of prep. Got thru maybe 8 oz when I started feeling nauseous and dizzy. Within 10 minutes I had passed out. My husband was slapping me, screaming at me, my eyes rolled back, mouth and eyes open. Could not remember anything til I came too. He thought I was dead. Oncall doc at hospital had never heard of anyone passing out on this. I stopped the prep. Well, it started working. I was able to have the procedure done the next day with only a small amount of residual left. This tells you that this is way too strong for a small person. I probably had an electrolyte imbalance due to not enough liquid or food in my body. So be careful you small people when taking this prep. You can probably get away with 1 bottle. I only drank 16 oz of water after only taking 8 oz of the 16 oz of prep. Good luck!Read More Read Less

This is not my first colonoscopy but it is my first time using Suprep. At time of writing this review, I have only taken my first dose. (I don't take the second bottle for another few hours). PROS: The taste is slightly better than other preps, but still not ideal. I love that it caused NO cramping. It was fast and easy. CONS: I did get the chills and it made me a slightly dizzy (but I am sure that is due to the fact that I haven't eaten food in 18 hours, ha!) Overall, Much easier than other preps (like Golyte or Phleet!)Read More Read Less

The taste was horrible but I got through the first day. No cramping but not enough significant bowel movement. Vomited once about an hour after drinking. Tomorrow I take it again but not looking forward to it.

Taste: Like salty berries and burnt plastic. Effectiveness: Worked within an hour of starting, no cramps or urgent dashes. Achieved watery stool almost immediately and the action was basically over within 3 hours of starting the first dose. Ease of use/satisfaction: Well, my prep was pronounced good despite vomiting my guts out an hour after starting the second dose, so it worked. Very unpleasant experience, though. I don't think I have a weak stomach and I had no problem getting either dose down, but dose 2 seemed to sit like a brick in my stomach for nearly an hour. It seemed as if the whole dose and all the water came back up and there was very little passage of liquid stool. I also felt *lousy* after drinking that second dose, which the nurses pronounced "normal." I have to go for my next screening in five years, and I plan to at least ask for a different prep, or maybe an anti-emetic to take with it.Read More Read Less

My 3rd colonoscopy, but new to this prep. In the past I would drink the huge jug of prep. I always had to hold my nose to drink & follow by chewing gum after each round. This time I was prepared w/ my gum & ready to hold my nose-no need. The prep mixed w/ water tasted like a grape popsicle diluted. It was not heavy, oily or salty. I wondered why they hadn't invented this earlier. You mix the bottle of the prep with enough water in the cup provided equaling 16 ozs. I was able to chug my down in about 7 mins. You follow that with two 16 oz cups of water all within an hour. I was done in about 20 mins. It took about 20 mins to work. I did experience some severe waves of cramping off and on for about two hours. I continued to go to the bathroom for about a total of 4 hours. I woke up the next morning and had more liquid bile bowel movements before even drinking my 2nd round. The morning dose was harder, as I usually feel nauseated in the morning on a regular day. I was only able to get down the first dose w/ bottle and one 16 oz cup of water. I could not down the last 16 ozs. With the second round came the burning bile yellow liquid bms that burnt my rear. The prep obviously worked and was so much easier than in the past.Read More Read Less

I had my third colonoscopy yesterday and used Suprep. For the first time, my doctor gave me an option - Suprep or drink the one gallon of prep (GoLitely) I used before. I took the Suprep because the one gallon option was hard for me in the previous two colonoscopies. Some people don't like the two-step process. You start the day before and do a second step 5 hours before your colonoscopy. Each step involves drinking a both 16 Oz of the Suprep followed by 32 Oz of water over the next hour or so. I had some sensation of fullness each time before the elimination started. The taste was not too bad, slight grape flavor and if you take a sip of water it goes away quickly. The price was a surprise -- my copay was $60.00. The doctor said I did a good prep, so if I did not have to go back and do it again, that's why I rated it a 5 for effectiveness. All in all, it was the easiest prep I've had. If you can tolerate the two-steps then I recommend it. It was the best option offered to me.Read More Read Less

I used SuPrep to get ready for my colonoscopy which I had yesterday. It is the most vile thing I have ever tasted. First dose was hard to get down, second worse because I knew what it would taste like. It got the job done without any cramping but that is the only good things I can say about it. I got cold with the first round and had chills with the second. In this day and age, can't they come up with something better. Wish I could have used the pill.

I had a colonoscopy to prep for last year and used moviprep. This year I was given Suprep. Suprep is easier to use, its less water that is mixed with the solution compared to moviprep. The instructions are clear. The taste is HORRIBLE, like cough syrup gone bad. The first round is easy, the second round is hard to drink because you know how bad it tastes. To get the bad taste out of my mouth I drank some limeade and it worked like a charm. After each round my belly would bulge and felt hard, but no cramping, nausea or other nasty side effects. I was able to empty my colon about an hour after drinking the solution. I just drank my second round, I expect my colon to be completely clear in time for my colonoscopy tomorrow morning. fter which I will eat a big fat cheeseburger...im so hungry!Read More Read Less

THE most horrible product ever! I had every side effect. The taste was unbearible! Miralax and Gatoraid was 1000 times better with no side effects except for what needed to be done.

I've only taken the first course, but I was so happy with the results that I wanted to comment. The taste wasn't terrible, in my opinion--I drank it straight, no mixer other than water. After I finished the first glass of additional water, I did experience some bad nausea for about half an hour; this was the worst part. About 45 minutes after I finished the second glass of additional water, I had the biggest bowel movement of my life. It was unreal! I am 15 pounds lighter than what the nurse recorded just 6 days ago, despite consuming 4+ liters of water today. There's no question that it cleared me out, and I still have another round tomorrow. Im a 40 yr old female going for my 1st colonoscopy due to blood in stool. I'm always constipated and don't go regularly so I was afraid this wasnt going to empty my bowels in time for my procedure. My procedure is today at 1:30pm. I started the suprep last night at 7:00pm and went right to sleep because I was so nervous and hungry. It kicked in around 1:00am. No cramping. Taste is horrible. Took the second part at 7:00am this morning and it started working immediately. Taste was worse 2nd time around. I recommend you stay awake and stand after taking Suprep. I think it works faster. I'm now clear and waiting to go to the doctor. It's 8:15am.Read More Read Less
