All I can say is WOW!!! Echoing what some others have said. Armour just "stopped working" and it seemed to add unpleasant side effects: hair falling out, inability to concentrate, cold hands and feet, no (zero, zilch, nada) libido. This past year 2013 - 2014 I swear that it seemed to taste chalkier (like a poofy pillow) and like what ever they were using to "bind it" was keeping me from bei...

OMG! I stopped taking this drug today . After reading all the dozens of reviews. I could not figure out why I was so depressed the last 3 months as well as massive hair loss! The last prescription that I picked up smelled like a dead fish! I also read in fine print that it is NOT FDA approved?? Are docs getting a kick back to prescribe this drug??

45 yr old female, was switched to NP Thyroid back in March. Was doing fine and levels were great. Lately started feeling all sorts of muscle pains, chest pains that stopped me in my tracks. Then one day while working I felt like I was going to pass out. So I made an appt with Dr and had bloodwork done. They called me 2 days later and demanded that I come in that day to see me. My tsh is 20.76, my antibodies are 422 and something else was supposed to be under 1 and is 67. My dr flipped. She got me into Endo that day. And he was perplexed as to what had happened. Then my friend who was also on NP was saying she is having same issues. It has completely changed my life and almost made me non functioning. Something needs to be done!Read More Read Less

Having constipation, gastric/bloating issues on this drug. Not happy! Only changed to this drug due to Nature Throid shortage. Stop playing with my health!

I have low thyroid so on Armour 60mg 1 year levels where between 2-4 (normal) however expensive. So thought I would try NP Thyroid save money, less fillers 2 months did lab work my level was 45...it had not worked, was like if I was not on any med. Now I have to go back to Armour at 90 mg to get back to normal. Not worth trying to save money. I was lethargic, napping, gained 10 lbs.

After 10 years of enduring the usual suspects, and having the reformulations fail me, I tried this brand. It worked, and I felt the best I have in many years. It only lasted a few sweet months, and all miserable aspects of being under medicated returned with a vengeance. To have this company follow all the others in creating a substandard product in pursuit of a few extra dollars is truly disheartening. Everyone employed by this outfit should be ashamed. But they wonâ??t be, for the same reason they will never respond to calls or emails. There is simply no profit in doing that. Read More Read Less

I became ill with cramps and diarrhea after taking a few of the pills that tasted terrible and smelled like cat urine. I ended up passing out due to the pain and have been in bed taking antibiotics to recover. I will never take NP Thyroid again. Something went wrong with their new European partner. The company called me and my daughter is talking to them, the company acknowledged a problem and is trying to find out what was the cause. They sent me a fedex package to return a few of the pills so they can determine what is in them.Read More Read Less

I just started a new 90 day batch last week. All of my symptoms are coming back!!! Itâ??s not fair that these companies are ignoring the literal suffering that we are going through...all for a dollar. I AM IN PAIN!!!! The old formulation worked just fine. The new pills smell strongly of cat urine. They donâ??t work any longer. Shame on the company and everyone involved in the changes. God forgive me but, I curse every single one of you with this condition so that youâ??ll feel what we feel from your betrayal. Read More Read Less

NP thyroid worked very well for me for over a year. Then in late summer 2019, the pills changed as Acella got a new "European" supplier of the porcine (pork) powder. Now it doesn't work and tastes vile. I believe it has bacteria in it because the smell in my bottle of pills gets worse each week.

I have been taking NP thyroid for well over a year (since the whole WP Nature-throid shortage/reformulation nightmare, even though RLC denies they changed anything to this day *eyeroll*) This med had been the one that never changed (up until this point.) The kicker is I had just gotten optimal on it last month, when I was still getting the good pills. Now all my symptoms are coming back; dizziness/side effects galore, plus the pill itself smells/tastes rancid! Different color/size, too. Specks and a grayish shade, rather than a normal smooth, yellowish cream color which has no gray, no rancid smell, Read More Read Less

I was switched to NP Thyroid a couple of months ago, and I feel like it’s not working. It also smells like cat piss. Not a happy camper

I have been using NP thyroid for about a year since switching from the unavailable nature throid. My last refill from August 31, 2019 was distinctly different from any of my past refills. It smells and taste like cat urine, very strong and unpleasant. I took it back to my pharmacy and they refilled it with a fresh package of pills, but when I got home it had the same unpleasant odor and taste. I’m trying to reach somebody at Acella Pharma But so far have only been able to leave a message

I USED to love this! They changed the medication. Labs need to learn to leave the NDT medication alone. This used to work great for me, but the last 2 months I've been more fatigued (even after increasing the dose) and have gained weight. The pills have a very strong porcine smell now and look different. This was the last option for those of us that didn't do well on the reformulated Armour and Naturethroid. Please change it back Acella!

I take 75mg, two pills, one 60mg, one 15mg every morning. NP seems to work reasonably well, but at times, I crash around 2:00 PM. Nature-Throid didn't work well for me at all, I was always worn out, NP is much much better. WP Thyroid worked well, but it's unavailable, I got tired of waiting for that company to get it's act together.

Switched to NP from Armour (six years of Armour). Instant difference. Not hungry all the time, losing weight. Hair is soft, gone is the unruly frizz. Energy is up. World of difference to me.

NP changed their formula in late 2018/early 2019!! Thatâ??s why you all feel like crap now! My mom, sister, and I were all on NP for hypothyroid and all started out GREAT for 6 months. Within the last month we have all 3 come down with the same terrible symptoms!! Fatigue like worse in my life, headaches, body aches, stiffness! restlessness, Tired but wired, canâ??t eat, digestion messed up, terrible mental fog/memory, depression, anxiety, the list goes on. I called my pharmacist and they filled me a bottle of name brand Arnour. Based off he research I did the last couple hours it looks like this should be a good solution although more expensive. I couldnâ??t take the NP another day! I thought I was dying!! Good luck everyone!Read More Read Less

Was on synthroid for 15 years then started gaining weight no matter how hard I tried to eat well and exercise. Like 20 pounds in 2 years! I begged the doctor for desiccated thyroid (natural) meds and he gave me NP thyroid. It took a while to get adjusted and had some insomnia and constipation. Worked up to 60mg. Have lost 10 pounds without effort!! So extremely happy with that!

I've been on NP Thyroid 60mg for about 3 months started off feeling a major change in energy, blurry vision went away, sleeping through out the night and overall feeling alive again. Lately getting in a funk more often than before , very difficult to loose weight , blurry vision is back, my periods are gone again and it takes longer to get well from a cold. Getting ready to go check my levels again

I just recently switched this medication after being on Synthroid for over ten years. I can already notice slight change in my energy. It's still low in the morning but I actually want to do things now whereas before I was always so very tired and aching/hurting. I will have to update my review but I feel very positive about how it is going and what the future will be like. My hair did start to fall out, but I also had a baby four months ago so not 100 percent sure it's the medication but did start falling out when I started this medication. Hopefully it stops but it's something I would definitely consider being ok with if my symptoms and quality of life improve. Read More Read Less
