Been on albuterol inhalers for the past 20 years. Oral steroids, Pulmicort and Duonebs. Doctor gave me a trial of Breo and I was shocked. I don't ever remember having such a deep breath of air in my life. Trying to get my crappy insurance to cover Breo got me so infuriated that I dropped my insurance so I can get Breo covered monthly through another program. It means that much to me to be able to ...

I have changed from Flovent to Qvair and even taken 2 courses oral Prednisone and I still wheezed. Breo did the job.

Beware that Breo coupons don't work if you have an HRA as part of your insurance plan. Each time I picked up my Breo at the pharmacy, the pharmacist processed my Breo coupon and the coupon appeared to work for free Breo in 2016 and $10 Breo in 2017. It wasn't until I did my income tax that I saw that money for Breo had been pulled out of my HRA account and as much as $81 at a time. Since then I have spent months trying to get my money back. I spent hours on the phone, mostly being transferred or on hold with Breo people who didn't care about my problem. They blamed the pharmacy and my HRA. When my calls to Breo didn't help, I sent two messages through the Breo website explaining the problem, and I got two, do-not-reply nonsensical messages back. I talked to HRA people several times, who told me to talk to the Breo people. I talked to my pharmacist several times who contacted the corporate pharmacy manager. The pharmacy manager contacted Breo. The pharmacy manager told me that Breo said that if I called a certain number, they would reimburse me. Hopeful, I called the Breo number. It was deja vu when man answered and said that I had the wrong department. He transferred me and I was on hold for half an hour. The next person who picked up the phone also said that I had the wrong department. He put me on hold for a lengthy time. The third Breo person who answered the phone was not interested in my problem. As with other Breo people, the Breo man blamed my pharmacy and my HRA, and he didn't care about my loss. I called the corporate pharmacy manager about this latest bad experience, and he said he would call Breo again. In the meantime, I've been without my inhaler for about three months now waiting for Breo to listen and care.Read More Read Less

I started using Breo after all other typical treatments for asthma failed. I was having attacks several times a day and was in general - miserable and uncomfortable. My lung efficiency was below 70%. For the first few weeks of using Breo my throat was extremely sore and honestly I felt like I was getting sick but the effectiveness of it outweighed the soreness by a long shot and after those few weeks the soreness went away and there were no other adverse side effects. My wheezing, coughing and attacks immediately reduced to 0. My lung efficiency is above 95%. I have been on it now for almost a year and I can't imagine being without it. I did get a year free of this medication and once it's over with my insurance it will cost roughly $30/month which is obviously more than worth it. Unfortunately for those without insurance it can cost around $350/month. Breo Ellipta has quite literally given me my life back and has taken away the fear of constant asthma attacks throughout the day and night. Read More Read Less

Now I told my doctor I can't take steroids. With some steroids I never can take it. I have severe Glaucoma, Epilepsy, Osteoporosis and other problems Idiopathic Pancreatitis. Now on the instructions I got from the pharmacy it didn't say anything about being a steroid. I am so afraid of taking it, I have also the shakes sometimes. I feel like throwing it away. I have never smoked. My coughing and wheezing is better, because of something she gave me, Mucinex a 12 hour 600 mg tab. That I've been taking twice a day. I have severe Glaucoma, I have had 5 laser surgeries, I am really mad that she gave me this when I said I don't like steroids. Have never taken it, because of having more seizures. I live alone, and sure don't want to like fall in the tub and die because I know people who have had it happen to someone they love.Read More Read Less

I was on Pro-Air and Qvar for about a year and it had ceased to be effective. My doctor gave me a sample of Breo to try and I was floored. Cleared my lungs up , breathing is as it was before I had asthma , and I'm only taking it once every other day. I also have not used my rescue inhaler at all. Unfortunately my insurance doesn't care whether it works and refused to cover it unless I tried Advair first. So , I have the Advair to try (but I'm using the Breo til it's gone). I'll see how it goes. I hope it works , but Breo is far and away the best I've used to date.Read More Read Less

I was given a free sample by my doctor. It works great helping me breathe. I don't get winded nearly as quick as I used to. A few hours after taking the first dose, I got a feeling of having something stuck in my throat, like a popcorn kernel (although I hadn't had popcorn) I realized on day 3 that I should have been rinsing and spitting instead of swallowing so I corrected the error. The kernel sensation was driving me crazy so I stopped taking it after only 5 days. But within a week my breathing was bad again. I know it's not thrush. Like I said, it's great for my breathing but I don't know if I can stay on it if it is causing this feeling in my throat.Read More Read Less

Breo caused a fungal infection in my lungs which resulted in pnuemonia. And yes I rinsed my mouth out after using it. I find it works best for me if I don't use it everyday. When I use it everyday I end up having asthma attacks,go figure.

My Lung Doctor gave me two free samples of Breo to try for better control of wheezing and also to help prevent flare ups. I was on Dulera for years but started to feel bad when using it twice a day. Spiriva did not work at all for me, but Advair did, but kept giving me sores in the corner of my mouth. Breo is great so far and my breathing is great like a kid again. Breo has worked better than anything for me and no tremors, Thanks GSk!

It opened my airways after having many bronchospasms while using QVAR. Then I developed psoriatic arthritis after 5 days. A rash and pain in my joints so I discontinued the drug.

I was placed on this medication after my insurance company refused to pay for my medication that was controlling my asthma. After about 7/10 days my face became inflamed with a horrible rash and I started having chest pain. I contacted my doctor and was told to come in, stop the medication and contact the insurance company.

I was wondering if anyone else had trouble with sleep issues when they first started using this. Other than that I have not breathed so well in a long time. I was nice not to be so dependent on inhalers.

Overall this medication has been excellent I have recovered fast and would continue using it except I suffer from one of the side effects of hoarse voice. I went off the medication for just under 2 weeks and my voice returned to normal capacity but unfortunately my asthma returned so Ive had to start the Breo again.Does anyone suffer from this side effect? returning to Dr's tomorrow to ask if there is possibly an alternative.

Taking Breo for 5 days did not improve my asthma. I was still using my Ventolin 4 times a day plus using my Nebulizer every day. My voice was horse by day 5. My Dr. is putting me back on Advair. I understand everyone is different and I wanted to give it a try. Did not work for me.

Packaging is fatal to the environment. Take one apart, 25 pieces of heavy plastic, wheels, springs and metal tape that the dust is put in. I got switched as soon as I saw what was inside. Price is OVER $300? Back to my old inhaler.
