I have been on many antidepressants over the past 8 years in addition to other treatments such as therapy, lifestyle changes and was even on the verge of getting ECT for my MDD/BPD. All of the treatments I tried had limited success as far a depression goes. I started using Brintellix about a month ago and it has been, by far, the best treatment I've ever used for depression. Side effects were min...

I have experienced depression most of my life with a stay in the psychiatric hosptial last Fall. I started on Brintellix at a dosage of 10 mg. Still feeling some hopelessness my doctor increased it to 20 mg. I am doing very good and very stable with no negative side effects at all. Very excited to have a new drug on the market that is effective

Was waiting for Brintellix to hit the market as my pristiq was making me tired. So I had high expectations for this drug. Went from 5 to 10 to 15 then 20. 2 weeks on each dose. While I did not feel depressed or tired or hungry the drug ramped up my anxiety. I stopped taking it today and can tell by this afternoon just how bad it was making me feel. It was doing something very strange to my brain. Fuzzy, anxious, agitated. Anyway back to pristiq til something better comes along :(. Also don't believe the hype about reduced sexual side effects. Probably worse for me than pristiq. Read More Read Less

I have been on this drug for a little over a month now. I will say at first I had a little nausea, but that went away after a couple days. Now, I feel like a new person. I was on viibryd before and I just didn't feel like that drug worked at all, so my doctor switched me to Brintellix. I noticed after a few days I did have a little more energy and here recently I have notice that not only is my depression gone but I'm not as anxious as I used to be. I can recommend it enough.

I started out the first month on this med ok. The second month I started getting such severe stomach pains I could hardly tolerate it. My regular Dr started checking testing for ulcers. After talking to my psychiatrist found out this is a side effect from this med, along with the aching muscles, and terrible constipation. Had to go off. Now trying Fetzima. So far so good...been having more hot flashes but been having them anyway so can live with that, mood has been so much better, no crabbiness or anxiety as others have reported.Read More Read Less

I was placed on Brintellix after having months of depression. Have been taking it for about 4 weeks now and it has lifted me up alot. I have to take with food because it does upset my stomach otherwise. But very good so far.

So far it's only been four days but already my depressive symptoms have lifted. I'm not sensing any side effects yet. I was on Pristiq and was having a hard time getting off of it. This medicine has so far made the transition easier

Been on med for 3 months. Started on 10mg for 2 months and then 20mg for the last month. Definitely have nausea, some days worse than others, highly recommend eating before taking it, but doesn't always work. The first 6 weeks I felt great, had more energy, felt happier & less depressed. The biggest downfall is I have gained 15 almost 20lbs in the last month, since I began the 20mg. Doctor says it's not shown to be a side effect, but from the reviews I have been reading, it appears I'm not the only one with the same problem. I have also noticed since increasing to 20mg, I am more irritable, short tempered & I feel like I'm unable to control these anger/mania mood swings, that seems to come out of nowhere. I have also developed crazy bad anxiety the last month too. Sexual desire has decreased considerably & the ability to achieve orgasm has also become extremely difficult. Where I never had any issues with this prior to the medication. Overall, its really helped with my depression, but the negatives are really starting to outweigh the benefits of the medication.Read More Read Less

Gaining weight, feeling cranky & irritable! Feeling mre depressed than when last med I was on, Cymbalta, stopped being effective! Back to Doc in 2 weeks. Will ask to be put on something else.Plus, cost is too high.Exercising 30-60 minutes a day, physical job & on Jenny Craig. Also, taking Temazapam 15mg.No other meds.Considering trying homeopathic supps.Read More Read Less

have been on this drug for 22 days. Just titrated up to 20mg. Strong nausea. Take this at night to stop the side effects, but nausea is too strong to go to sleep. Hope this subsides. Drug is helping with depression slowly.

I have been on every antidepressant there is for the past 20yrs. I have panic and anxiety. I gain so much weight on all of them. I have been on Brintellix for 8 days and feel very mellow. The only side effects are nausea and some GI problems. I started at 5mg for 5 days then 10mg. Go slow. So far it's working great for my anxiety. I am very tired but hopefully that will go away.

This is the only medication so far that it helps me to control my depression. It gives me a little bit of energy and feel good with myself. The only side effect is a little bit of a headache but for the most part I feel good!!!!!

This caused a lot of nausea and vomiting, I only took it for a couple of days, also made me feel dizzy, and fuzzy, had some memory problems also. The price is too high for me to also take the other meds, I was on another antidepressant with this one (zoloft) which I have now been on for years.

I have been taking this medication for approximately 10 weeks. There has been some improvement in the depression initially but I now have become very depressed, having suicidal thoughts. The nausea has become horrible, vomit every day about 20-30min after taking the medication. The cost is also very high. Over $100 every month AFTER insurance

Started on 10mg and it was great at first. It gave me energy and lowered my depression. But it started messing with my stomach. I had stomach pains and diarrhea. Doctor said try 20mg after a month of being on 10. I did. First and last night of taking that medicine, i felt anxious and uneasy but i thought i need to get used to it. I went to sleep and woke up at 4 am sweating and having severe diarrhea with dizziness, headache horrible stomach pains and panic attack. While in the bathroom i felt like i was fainting/passing out. I immediately had to lie down and slowly started feeling better. The next morning my doctor told me to get off that pill and visit her office for another type of medicine.Read More Read Less

Brintellix made me horribly ill! Severe nausea, acid reflux..I couldn't lie down flat for days due to the stomach upset. Pay attention to this side effect, definitely Brintellix is not for me!
