Today I have been taking Contrave for 30 days. I am 5'7" & was 188 lbs. when I began.  In 30 days I lost 10 lbs. virtually effortlessly.  10 lbs. is not a lot of weight, and I have 33 more lbs. to loose to get to a healthy weight, but considering I sit at a desk all day & study at a desk all evening & never exercise I am thrilled.  The first 2 days I took the medication I felt a little "disconnect...

I took Contrave for 3 weeks following directions. After a few days, I started to feel dryness in my mouth which followed by constant strong bitter taste. I decided to stick to it, but by the end of week three late at night I suddenly started to feel a sharp pain in my lower back which quickly started to spread out up my body. I felt a sharp pain in my chest & back, tightness in my chest and shortn...

After taking medication , taking 2 in am & 2 in pm I started experiencing hallucinations. I ve never had hallucinations. I tweaked back to only in the am , hallucinations stopped. I made back to regular doses morning & afternoon , hallucinations started again . The only other medicine that I take are blood pressure, chloestral, heart med & Lasix . I don’t know why I experience hallucinations . I had to give them up

Lost 20 lbs in three months and plan on losing 25 more. I am taking the generic version of Contrave - so much cheaper! - which is a combo of Bupropion annd Naltrexone. Unbelievable how cravings/binging have stopped. Happy to now know what a normal person feels like after struggling for almost 50 years. Terrible nausea and dizziness initially which gradually dissipated after five weeks until my dose was increased. If they do not dissipate again, I will return to the initial dose with fingers crossed.Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication for 2 weeks. I have never experienced decrease appetite, only headache fatigue, nauseous. Today I am so dizzy and I have horrible anxiety. I am not taking it anymore after today. I would rather be overweight than to deal with these side effects.

In one month I have lost 10 pounds, and had very few side effects, which were gone in the first week. I've had sleeping issues with buproprion before, so I take my doses at 7 am and 2 pm.

Dizzy, halos, tunnel vision with eyesight. Kidney pain, fatigue, nauseous, and couldn't get out of bed for 2 days after taking just one pill in the am for 2 days. I wasted $200. With insurance. Worst experience. Terrible medicine. Uggghhhhh

Started Contrave the second week of July. I am 5-3" and 50 years old. Starting weight was 186lbs. Current weight is 153lbs. Side effects have been minor except for constipation. That has been challenging to combat. The benefits of the medication for me have far outweighed the side effects. I no longer feel the impulse to eat, snack, graze all day long. My mind no longer thinks about food 24/7. I eat smaller meals and make better nutrition choices. I tend to feel more satisfied. I definitely have more energy and exercise regularly. VERY happy to be on Contrave. I feel like myself again. Read More Read Less

Started Contrave Feb 2023 at 230lbs. Oct 2023, weight is 196. My blood pressure is better. Less back pain. It curbs my appetite, especially for sugars and starches. Nausea could be irritating at times, but overall I’m impressed with the drug. I had a lot of energy at the start of Contrave use. It’s not as noticeable now but I can tell my energy level is higher than before Contrave.

I was prescribed this by my endocrinologist to assist in weight loss as I'm diabetic. My first day was OK, dry mouth, irritability. My second day I became a bit insane, trembling, anxious, irritability, nausea, shaky, heart rate faster. I was quite scared. I managed to calm myself down and sleep a little. It costs R1000 which is a lot of money, lucky I was given 7, I won't be trying this again.

I am on my second day of contrave and have not experienced any side affects. I am 5ft 178lbs. I feel a little more energy than the days before but still feel tired. I am going to keep taking it to see if my body is going to benefit from it. I will keep you all updated. Just remember that what works for someone else, it may not work for you since we are all different.

I was prescribed this medication to treat Alcohol Use Disorder, not a weight problem, and I only got to day five of taking it before I had to call it quits. The nausea and vomiting was unbearable, I couldn’t keep down food or many liquids, causing me to not be able to eat for four of the days. The spacey/disassociation feeling I got from this medicine was intense and everything just kind of felt like a dream. The last straw was from vomiting so much due to this medication, I got a Mallory-Weiss tear causing me to vomit blood and seek additional medical care. An expensive medication that I thought was going to quite literally kill me. Read More Read Less

This medication has saved my life. I can't say that about any other medication I have ever taken. The food noise is real, and it's gone. I am losing weight, but I feel normal. Decades of food obsessions, food noise, binge eating has gone away. I feel normal.

I have taken Contrave for 30 days and have lost maybe one pound. I have dry mouth and it didn't stop cravings. I lost 15 pounds on Mourjaro in 2 months with no side effects, but could not get the medication because government limited who could take the medication. I don't think Contrave is worth taken with all of the possible side effects.

I am on my third week of using Contrave, and I am underwhelmed with my results. I have only lost 2 lbs in 3 weeks. I do have more energy and I do notice that I am not driven to snacking all day long, but I have added exercise to the mix, at least 3 x per week and have still only lost 2 lbs. I am not eating junk food, my calories are around 1300 per day minus the exercise and I thought I would have seen more from this.

I have been on Contrave for 4 weeks now. I started at 315.5 lbs and now weigh 299.00 lbs. This drug has given me more energy while suppressing my cravings. I feel full quicker and don't think about food constantly. Highly recommend!

Completed 14 days with 4lbs lost; experienced continued nausea throughout along with dry mouth and developing tremors. On day 14, I woke up with shortness of breath and increasing chest pain to the point where it felt like a band constricting my chest to the point where I couldn't breathe and felt like a cardiac event was pending. Went to the ER where I was ruled out for a MI. Labs have been normal, EKG and CXR normal, a clean stress test before even starting the med. Taking this drug was not worth the side effects...this med was just not for me.Read More Read Less

I had a very few sides effects the first 2 weeks but starting the third week I had horrible issues. The first two weeks I had a constant headache, Some shakeiness in my hands, But I did have a lot of energy. Starting week three I took the dosage recommended and had a horrible experience. The shaking is in my hands was so bad I could hardly hold a pen And my jaw started to feel oddly stiff as if I couldn't move it. Then I got this tick on the side of my face that I couldn't control. I thought I was having a stroke. It was so scary that I decided to stop taking contrave.Read More Read Less

I took my first pill yesterday and in about an hour had to lay down. My heart was racing, was very dizzy, and just felt off. All day long I was so miserable. At one point I took a Covid test, because I thought surely this can't be from one dose. Covid test was negative. Went to bed about 9pm, wide awake at 3am with a headache, feeling very flushed and just bad....no real way to describe it. I bought a 3 month supply and am now out all that money, but I will not be taking anymore of this medicine. I do not recommend. Read More Read Less

I have started on this per my M.D."s advice for weight loss. I am glad to say I have not experienced any side effects. I started at 228 and am down to 209. I will continue until I reach my goal weight.

I started up with Contrave again because I gained weight from taking Prednisone. In three weeks I lost 15 pounds, but I was very determined and doing well with about 600 calories a day. I don't know if it was contrave or the 100+ degree heat but I felt very weak on the golf course and played poorly. I really want to lose 15 more but think I will stick to 2 pills/day because I've been losing weight with that, and then my pill$ will last longer.
