Today I have been taking Contrave for 30 days. I am 5'7" & was 188 lbs. when I began.  In 30 days I lost 10 lbs. virtually effortlessly.  10 lbs. is not a lot of weight, and I have 33 more lbs. to loose to get to a healthy weight, but considering I sit at a desk all day & study at a desk all evening & never exercise I am thrilled.  The first 2 days I took the medication I felt a little "disconnect...

I took Contrave for 3 weeks following directions. After a few days, I started to feel dryness in my mouth which followed by constant strong bitter taste. I decided to stick to it, but by the end of week three late at night I suddenly started to feel a sharp pain in my lower back which quickly started to spread out up my body. I felt a sharp pain in my chest & back, tightness in my chest and shortn...

If you can handle the extreme nausea then maybe this might work for you. I have terrible headaches. It never did give me any energy so I see no point to continue taking this medication. I've taken it for 2 weeks and every time I up my dose I start to feel really sick. I don't recommend this medication. Besides it being expensive there is no effectiveness.

I noticed each time I increased my dosage I would be very tired, lethargic, sick to my stomach, and headachy for the day. After that I was fine. I never really had cravings so maybe this helps with those. I've not lost any weight and I'm on week 4. The Scale Down program sends you a nice electronic scale. Each time you weigh it tracks your progress and sends you a text message. When I weighed in the second day it sent me a text stating that I had gained .7 pounds and 'had better consider packing my lunch today' (I had eaten dinner the night before but not had a BM since). It has also said I've gained 2.5 pounds between Sunday (2 days ago) and this morning. Sunday my weight read 299 and change; today it was 300 and change. Not sure where it's coming up with 2.5 pounds. For the price each month I wish I had more positive things to say.Read More Read Less

This medication caused severe nausea, headaches and nervousness. The only good side effect was that I slept better. I did not lose any weight. I had to stop the medication when the dose increased to 2 tablets in the morning and one in the evening. I was too sick to take it. I still wanted to eat. I think this medication is geared more towards stopping cravings, something I never really had. If you need to lose weight and cave into cravings then this might be the right medication for you, otherwise I don't see that it helps.Read More Read Less
