Had it inserted one week ago. I recommend taking max Aleve dosage prior. I only took tylenol (which I think does a poor job). I was incredibly anxious so I held a nurses hand during procedure. Was not comfortable but wasn't the worst I've felt. Measuring the cervix was worse than insertuon for me. Focus on breathing to help your muscles relax. After a minute or two I was able sit up, walk and drive...

I got the Liletta inserted about a month and a half ago. I am seriously considering having it removed. I was on the pill for 2 years and never had a problem except when my provider changed or if I would miss a day. The liletta was the most painful experience I have ever felt physically ( I have lots of piercings and several tattoos) I had always thought I had a high pain tolerance so I went into t...

I got my IUD placed about a month ago. Insertion was not to bad. A little discomfort and some cramping after. I returned to work after and worked a full day. I had some minor cramping for a few days after. My bleeding has been off and on, I got it placed on the last day of my period and have been spotting off and on all month. My next period is due in a few days. No other side effects, I forget I had it to be honest.

I had mirena put in before it was accompanied with non stop bleeding for months and some cramping. I switched to liletta and Iâ??m a 1 1/2 years in now with no bleeding at all just very painful cramps, leg pain ,mood swings, weight gain. Itâ??s nice to not have to deal with a regularly heavy period in my case, not so nice dealing with the everything else.

I got the iud in April 2019, it hurt sooo bad I didn’t even want to drive home. I wasn’t so crampy afterwards. I bled non stop till for months and even called to ask them if it was normal( they said yes). August rolls around and I’m still bleeding every day very heavy, I wanted it up but the doctor said to try it out for a little longer. She gave me the pill as well as keeping my iud in to regulate my bleeding. That worked until October and she wanted me to continue taking the pill. I told her no because the defeats the whole point of getting the iud. My periods were regular after I stopped taking the pill but my periods were just getting longer and longer. April 22 2020 a year later I started my period, today is May 16th and I’m still bleeding. I’m getting this god forsaken thing taken out the 19th. 10/10 do not recommend Read More Read Less

I had it inserted at the end of September at my 6 weeks checkup after having my baby. I figured it would work for me because I've had mirena before with no issues. Insertion hurt a lot. Lots of cramping after. On October 6th I started my period.....and it's never stopped. It is now December. I went to my one month check up after insertion and my doctor recommended I use a birth control pill as a supplement til my bleeding regulated. They say it's normal to have bleeding at 1st. Well I've been taking it for 3 weeks now and still bleeding. I've started getting cystic acne and my hair is real oily now and wasn't before I had it put in. And as an added bonus my emotional state is not so great. My depression I had in the past has started to come back. I'm going to have it removed.Read More Read Less

The worst experience all around. I had Mirena without any issues. It took my OBGYN TWO times to get proper insertion. On top of that, I ended up with 3 ovarian cysts and constant pain. I later found out that the ultrasound technician who worked there also had issues with Liletta after having ZERO issues with Mirena

After the iud was inserted I stopped having a period and then a few months later I began to cramp almost every day, the cramps were mild but annoying. A year ago when this was occurring I got an ultrasound, they claimed it looked perfect and in order. Throughout the next year I still had months were I would feel cramps very often but no period. Last week I began to feel severe cramping with spotting and blood. It was very alarming. I went to get checked and the ultra sound showed one of the arms was into the uterine wall and that is causing pain. They claimed it probably was probably like that since insertion. 8 the plan was to place a new one under ultrasound to make sure it’s perfectly situated, I went today and now I was told it was both arms in both sides of uterine wall. She suggested we do the Skyla for reinsertion because it is smaller. The pain was unbearable due to already inflamed from pain this week and arms being into the walls, it was a very awful experience. When she initially took out the iud it hurt very bad. She went on to measure my cervix and I could tell she wasn’t expecting that to be painful and I yelped, it felt like an out of body experience in a bad way. My legs were shaking and she stopped for a few mins after seeing how concerned my mother was and myself in loads of pain. She suggested to just come back another day and I explained that I wanted it done now. She proceeded when I was ready. The cramp eventually subsided but the whole experience was awful. She said my uterus was too small for iud. I am overly frustrated because a year ago I was told the ultrasound showed it perfect. So advice: always asked to be measured before you choose your device. Have an ultrasound to make sure it’s properly placed. And trust your body! I knew something felt wrong but almost didn’t go get seen right away when I could’ve. You know yourself better than anyone else! The pain can be different for different people! Ask questions and do research! Read More Read Less

had this IUD inserted about 1 year ago to date. the insertion was incredibly painful but really was relatively quick. my obgyn used numbing on my cervix which i think helped but it still sucked. after insertion i bled and cramped for about a month straight but not heavy. periods prior to the liletta were extremely long, painful, and heavy. now they are very light (only wear panty liner) and about 5 days at most. I do get the dreaded IUD cramps from time to time especially around my period. Still trying to find ways to combat that. i have not noticed any unusual weight gain or acne as i have always had acne and i haven't been crazy active this last year. i started doing yoga though and have noticed i am able to lose weight so i don't think this IUD has any effect on my weight. overall it's been a good experience and i'll probably keep it until i decide to have kids. going back for a check up next week to be sure things are all in place.Read More Read Less

When I got the liletta instead it wasn't painful at all. I was nervous from what other women said but was surprised when the doctor was done and the pieces was pretty much pain free. I stopped for the first few weeks which was annoying. Then it stopped. Then I had a couple of regular periods and now it's lessening again to spotting. This is messing with my head because I've read the stories of women getting pregnant with an IUD. It's probably nothing but I'm going to get a test just in case. I do like not having to take a pill everyday. Read More Read Less

I got the Liletta inserted about a month and a half ago. I am seriously considering having it removed. I was on the pill for 2 years and never had a problem except when my provider changed or if I would miss a day. The liletta was the most painful experience I have ever felt physically ( I have lots of piercings and several tattoos) I had always thought I had a high pain tolerance so I went into the insertion with an optimistic mindset. I felt three sensations, the first was dull and pressure, the second a deep painful pinch and the last one felt as if I was being ripped. I almost fainted and became extremely light headed. I was very intimidated by this because I was under the impression that I would just feel a "pinch". I have had horrible cramps, constant spotting and cystic acne since insertion along with a 7 day period (before mine were 3 or 4 days) I had no cramps and no acne before liletta. Everyone's body is different. I scoured every site to find information about this iud and I found some useful. I hope this helps! Read More Read Less

I had Liletta implanted two days ago and I have been feeling perfectly fine and have had no major side effects. Over the last two days, I have slightly been more tired but that could have been from my hectic schedule. The only pain I had was two painful pinches during the implanting process and mild cramps for an hour or two after it was in.

Worst side effects I have ever had with a drug. I took 1200 mg of Advil and still no relief. I can't handle this pain anymore, it's too much. It's like needle/stabbing pain. I not only feel it in my uterus but the pain is at my anus too! I'm breaking out like crazy and spotting. It's been two weeks since the insertion and honestly the amount of pain I'm having from the cramps is unbearable to wait any longer. I want it out now!!!

Had an IUD inserted at Planned Parenthood, prior to starting college. Insertion was painful and I was in bed for 24 with moderate cramps and bleeding. For the first two months I had intermittent spotting but since then none and no period which is a bonus. Very happy so far, no side effects and I am glad to not have to worry about birth control.

I doybled my meds, put on a hearing pad and passed out. I ended up taking the day after off but so long as I was standing or laying down, i had no cramps. Bleeding stopped within 24 hrs (got it on my period). Minor cramping for the week but almost nothing today (day seven) except for a little spotting. The cramping only really occured wgile sitting in my office chair....well worth it if I'm protected for 3 years with minimal hormonal interference. I was on nuvaring for four years and pills prior to that. The ring mad me gain a ton of weight, get headaches and high blood pressure, so I was forced to switch. So far my moods have improved as well as BP and headaches. I'm pumped! 29 years old, never had a kid.Read More Read Less

The worst mood swings imaginable. Sever ups and downs. Had this removed after 1 month because I couldn't take the side effects.
