Hey, this medication is considered safe for up to 2 WEEKS. You should not be using it for longer than that unless you have exhausted every other safer option. Most notably diet. And don't ever trust that your doctor knows what's best for you, every doctor makes a mistake in his/her career and many do almost every day due to ignorance or inattentiveness. If you've been on a solid diet designed t...

Made me very sick, after looking up the main ingredient polyethylene glycol, it makes me wonder?? The two ingredients in antifreeze are ethylene glycol, and propylene glycol which are also used in some dog treats as a preservative, and gave my dog seizures, the names sounds too close and in the same class, VERY SCARY!!!

Day #1 started treatment with Polyethylene glycol 17 grams dissolved in 8 oz water, to prevent constipation. Patient 33 years old good condition wheel chair bonded. By day # 5 he had developed marked abdominal distension. Examination showed distended and tense abdomen on palpation with mild RLQ tenderness. Diffuse dilatation of ascending colon and transverse colon, with presence of gas all the way to lower rectal region including small bowel dilatation. Treatment was started with; tap water enema and periodic change of position (Right side, Left Side, Prone position and Vertical position), 15 to 20 minutes per position. After the first bawl movement as result of 330ml Fleet enema, a second 600ml Tap Water (Distilled Water) enema with gravity 3 ft high was administrated. The discharge was a gel like yellowish stool in amount of 700ml. There is a great suspicion of polymerized polyethylene glycol. Day #6, the passage was open with more discharge of gel like stool, gases and improvement was evident. The patient had no history of mucus. Read More Read Less

MY DOCTOR HAS PRESCRIBED THIS FOR MY HEMORRHOIDS CAUSED BY CONSTIPATION..I HAVE BEEN TAKING THIS FOR NEARLY TWO YEARS AND IT HAS WORKED WONDERS...THE ONLY FAULT I FIND IS THAT I CANNOT NOT TAKE MY PRESCRIPTION DRUGS UNTIL TWO HOURS AFTER I TAKE THE GLYCOL 3350. IS THIS FACT OR FICTION? MY PHARMACIST IS NOT SURE.

I've been taking "Miralax/polyethlene Glycol" for about 2 months at a once a day dosage...I kind honestly say, I've noticed no difference in my "bowel movements"...I have to say when I do have one, it's smoother/calming to me, but basically there is nothing to "laugh about" while taking this medication...

I use MIRALAX with the instruction of my doctor who recommended that I take this medication as long as I wish -- longer than 7 days as recommended on the bottle, and consult her if I feel anything out of ordinary. During second week of using MIRALAX; one morning, afgter having a bowel movement, I felt my heart skipped a beat, than I felt faint as I was having a heart attack. I was pretty scared and called my friend who took me to emergency at a local hospital. They checked me very good and assured me that I did not have a heart attack and the heart monitors did not show skip in my hearth beats. The doctor said I was fine, go home and go on with my life. Deep down in my heart, I knew that the way I felt that morning had something to do with taking MIRALAX longer than it suggested on the bottle even though my doctor said I could. I am very conscientious about my health and I read lot. I felt I might have lost some of my oils and minerals out of my body and may have depleted my electro-lights by using MIRALAX. I was talking to my sister about it and she suggested I should try taking "Emergen-C" twice a day. I followed her suggestion and it worked. I now take MIRALAX everyday and also take "Emegen-C" twice a day and so far I did not have that awful feeling again but yet every now and then I feel very light skip in my heart beat. I feel "Emergen-C" keeps up my electro-lights. I had one of the worse constipation problem since my 30s and this is the first time I am having daily bowel movements thanks to MIRALAX. I feel MIRALAX manufacturers should take into consideration what I an telling here. Thank you.Read More Read Less
