the "instructions" state that I take .25mg for 1st week and then .5mg thereafter. The graduations on the pen show nothing but dashes until you reach 1mg. the instructions also state that you can only take 1mg with this pen. wtf?

Love Ozempic! I tried several things that just didn't work, making me physically and mentally sick. A1C was over 9.0, now controlled around 5.6 Lost over 50lbs in 1 year without trying. Experiencing a change in insurance to Kaiser and am concerned since Kaiser does not cover Ozempic. Ozempic was a life changer and do not want to go through a year of "lets see what medicine will work for you" and deal with side effects. Wish me luck!

Best medication for type 2. The only draw back if you don't have a drug plan expensive. If you can get this drug.you are worth it. Little sore stomach at first

Having read many threads on this forum I havn`t read any from users who also suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) so I thought it might be helpful to share my experience as I have had IBS since my late teens. I am 64 now. I started as most people do with a weekly injection of .25 mg to start my body to get used to Ozempic. I thought at first that I had no side effects. This was not quite correct though as I believed I was experiencing low level IBS which was not unusual for me. However I began to notice this was happening more often than usual. What actually seemed to be happening was that I was not having a direct side effect, but the Ozempic was actually triggering IBS events. This became much more obvious when I moved on to the next dosage level of 0.5 mg. The effects began between 24 and 48 hours and these were high level (severe) IBS events which lasted for 3 - 4 days when I got very severe stomach cramps constant diarrhea with fecal incontinence when sleeping requiring making a nappy out of a bath towel for at least 2 nights. On the 3rd week of the 3rd month the effect happened only hours after the injection. when I started the 4th month I had no IBS reaction, other than a few sulphur burps and this is how it has remained. It was a very unpleasant 3 months but I pushed on because of the promised benefits. Four months on and no unpleasant side effects. The results seem to be very good and I am really pleased that I stayed with it, I was getting near to the point of wondering if all effects were going to be worth it. So my advice if you also have IBS is stay with it as long as you can, for me it was hugely successful in the end, even though it was a very unpleasant road getting there.Read More Read Less

Starting on my second week. The upset stomach and nausea come and go. I definitely felt like my appetite decreased. Food just doesn't sound good anymore. I make myself eat. I guess that's a good thing, but the tummy aches are hard to take. Going to keep trying to take it. Hopefully, my A1C improves and hoping I lose some unwanted pounds.

I switched from Victoza to Ozempic due to severe side effects of Victoza. Not much difference, in fact I have decided to stop taking Ozempic because of the severe diarrhea and nausea. Yes A1C decreased but that is most likely because I was only able to eat about 800 calories a day. I am a 57 year old male 5' 9" and my weight dropped from 165 to 150 pounds. I looked like a skeleton and had no energy or quality of life. The loss of quality of life is a price I am not paying. I have been off it for 3 weeks now and my appetite is back as is my energy and vitality. Yes the medication does what it claims but be cautious of the horrific side effects. I titrated from .25 to .50 and back down to .25 before quitting. Read More Read Less

Maybe its too soon as I am on week 2, however the ease of use is incredible. The first 2 days I had nausea and my head felt like death! but I also had a mega cold that hit. I asked my doc if it is coincidental and she said more than likely. I have odd cravings and a tendency for fresh salads, fruits and veggies. You still must watch what you eat. I take a strong daily probiotic for gut health. So overall, I dont have any major issues and hope to continue for the next few months to bring down my A1CRead More Read Less

This is week six and I am still having episodes of nausea and then vomiting a couple times a day. Also I have lost about six or 7 pounds in the same time.

I'm about to take my second dose tomorrow. My doctor told me to start with .25 for the first two weeks, then increase to .5. I goofed up and took .25 for the first two days. It's a long story, but trust me, I'm not a dumbass. Anyway, I've had nasty nausea, stomach pain, a headache and dizziness. It was more intense the first two days, and seems to be abating. I do notice a decrease in my appetite. My blood glucose levels haven't moved much, being around 160 in the morning. I will give it more time, and hope the nausea and dizziness pass. If I had to actually hold down a job I don't know how I'd manage. I really wish I knew what to do about the nausea.Read More Read Less

I'm starting 6th week and am still taking only .25 mg. My glucose levels were between 300 and 400 before and many days now have fallen into 120's and 130's. After reading reviews, I was so afraid of starting this but, thankfully, have had very few side effects. A little dizzy sometimes, had terrible headache in first week, but I've lost 11 lbs. and love the way this is keeping me from feeling hungry.

I am on my 6th wk of taking this. up to .5 dose. side effects are horrible. my stomache sounds like a washing machine. feel nauseous all of the time, like vomit in my stomach. i actually belch and have 2 days per week of diarrhea. my doctor put me on pepcid at night and prilosec in the morning. this is not helping. You have to eat several small meals aday and drink a min of 48oz of water. its the only way I don't throw up. it does take your appetite away and you feel full all the time. why am i still on it? trying to get cleared for gastric by-pass surgery. finger sticks are down and have lost 8lbs in 6 weeks. But will not stay on this much longer. its making me miserable. Read More Read Less

A1C went from 7.2 to 6.4 in 3 months taking .5mg. Switched to 1mg and will be lowering my insulin. Mild nausea here and there but nothing bothersome bc its usually at night when i lay down. Haven't seen the dramatic weight loss like i did on jardiance but couldn't stand the uti's and yeast onfe6any longer.

A true fit for me. I learned which foods I can tolerate while taking this medication. Overall, I feel so much better and actually cleared some depression. Just completed 2 months. My insurance covers the medication. On the other hand, my husband did not tolerate it due to nausea and vomitting.

I am on my 4th week with injections at .5. I have lost a total of 16 lbs. None of the side effects described here. I have had no change in my finger stick readings. After an injection, my blood sugars goes off the charts. I am on 500 mg of Metformen a day. My numbers avg around 120's to 130's. I just checked before and after number comparison and my number went up darn near 80 points after my Oz injection? Anyone have this issue. I will be contacting my DR. Weight loss has been good, but no reduction of my numbers, only have made them Rise?Read More Read Less
