I've taken 3 doses, one month apart. My hips and joints are killing me. I have been migraine free, however I am so uncomfortable. I was told the only side effects were regarding the injection site. That is impossible, since all drugs can have various side effects It wasn't until I read other reviews that I correlated my joint pain to this drug.

Day 14, the headache is felt worse upon awaking. Today like a 6. Not working for me. Plus, my left hand is hurting for no reason. Like a tendinitis or something and no reason for that to occur.

This really works for migraines. Also helped immensely with my sinus headaches. After the 2nd shot I had severe itching that has now spread over my entire body. It came on slowly

I got ringing in my ears, extreme stomach pain and acid reflux. My whole mouth felt like I burned it for 2 weeks. It did help my migraines but the side effects are too much to consider staying on it. Also felt very anxious the first few days after injection.

I've only had my first dose and already have noticed a positive change in my migraine pattern. Less migraines and intensity.the only noticeable side effect is the constipation, accompanied by gas and bloating. A minor set back but so far worth the outcome. I look forward to continuing this product and hope my body will adjust and get better results

Emgality did relieve my migraines, but caused severe stomach cramps for two weeks after each injection that barely allowed me to eat. At first I did not connect the stomach cramps to the shot, but after four months I quit taking emgality. AIMOVIG has worked much better for me.

Iâ??m not exaggerating when I say this medication has changed my life and itâ??s free for a year. I used to have headaches for a week at a time and the months of May and September. Now I rarely get a headache and if I do 1/2 an aspirin and itâ??s gone. This medication has literally changed my life!

Emagality is an answer to migraine prayers. This is even better that Aimovig! Easy to use and very effective.

Think this medication gives me heart palpitations and breathlessness. It works on the migraines though. Will stop taking it - not worth the risks

It causes hair thinning and loss as well as weight gain and lower back pain. Dr had no idea of these side effects. Pharmacist confirmed hair loss is a huge side effect and starts as soon as you start taking it. Nake sure you check with a Pharmacist. They have more education on meds.

I regret EVER taking this drug as it has completely ruined my life. I took 4 injections before I realized that emgality was causing all of these hellish effects on my body. My last injection was on January 5th. I suffered anxiety that I never had, panic attacks, insomnia, weight loss, vomiting, numbness and tingling, tremors, nervousness, depression, loss of appetite and severe allergic reaction. My body at this current moment is stuck in a nervous state I've been shaking with tremors since January on a constant basis. My central nervous system and immune system have both been compromised. No matter what I do nothing helps Read More Read Less

The first 2 months seemed to show promise, I had less severe headaches than I had been having for the last 13 years but also started to get ringing in my ears and had severe leg and toe cramping that would shoot me out of bed several times a night. The headaches started to increase in pain on the third week after month 2 so I thought the med was wearing off when it was close to time for next shot so I kept getting the injection. The third month I started getting heart racing, feeling like palpitations, got flashes, and very lightheaded. I seriously thought my blood sugar was dropping, thatâ??s how bad I felt but did not feel better after eating. Then I thought it was my heart, but I work for cardiologist and my ekg was good just elevated heart rate but not abnormal. I thought it was vertigo or Ménièreâ??s disease but ENT didnâ??t think the symptoms correlated with ear problems. After the 4th month injection the headaches have gotten so bad along with blurry vision and now severe back pain. I finally started reading what other people have been going through not just the success stories on the drug website and see that many of the symptoms I have had are what others have experienced and it makes sense now. I did not get my 5th injection, itâ??s been about 32 days since my last months shot and I feel terrible! Foggy brain, canâ??t remember words, forgetting the smallest things, awful spinning feeling, ears ringing, back pain, constipation, gas, and bloating, hot face and flushed, extreme fatigue-donâ??t want to move, heart racing, tight stiff painful neck and shoulder blades. I am actually scared of feeling this way for the next 5 months until this poison is out of my body. Read More Read Less

Iâ??ve been headache, aura free since my loading on 2/28. Itâ??s an absolute life savor, i have my life back. I too had some itching, and eyelid swelling, but Iâ??ll take that. Suffered for 10 years with at least 15-19 headaches a month.

I have cluster headaches and migraines. It’s been working great. I have been experiencing some light insomnia that isn’t not manageable but still never been an issue prior. The only reason i am putting three stars over all is the debilitating back pain. I have done 5 injections and it started slowly and then came on stronger. I can barely walk without naproxen and ibuprofen. Others have mentioned constipation I will be exploring If this has anything to do with the back pain. This drug has otherwise been life changing. I became severely depressed and anxious within a few days of taking the loading dose of two injections. That was on 1/28/2020. Now waiting for the drug to slowly clear my system so I can feel normal again.

Loading dose caused severe abdominal pain and cramping. Effective on migraine. Next dose caused allergic reaction. Again effective. Dr said take w Benadryl. Next dose more allergic symptoms, fatigue, muscle/joint pain, depression. I'm done, not worth side effects.

Migraines since age 9, now 57. This medicine has far too many side effects to outweigh the benefits. First: joint pain in knees to the point I had to get steroid shot & visit at doctor's ($50 copay - thanks for that!). Second, starting having really bad pain in outside of thigh, feels like a charley horse but 5x worse. If standing I have them every 5 minutes. Makes cooking dinner, standing in line, being at church nearly impossible. Emotionally, more irritable, feel like I could cry at the drop of a pin. This drug...just say NO!!! Yes, it helped my migraines but at what cost. Read More Read Less

Have been battling with TIA's and was told it was due to the migraines I have been having 4 to 5 days a week for 3 years. Doc started me on Emgality and told me it would make them go away with no side effects. Took the 2 starter doses and within 30 mins of the second injections began severe itching. By day 3 still have the migraines. Ended up in the ER with rash on face, blurred vision, minor memory loss, itching, joint pain, muscle stiffness and fatigue. I do not recommend this medication to anyone. The side effects are severely under played by the manufacture. Use with cation.Read More Read Less

I took three doses. It caused hair loss, weight gain and back pain. My Dr was not aware of these side effects but they were confirmed by the Pharmacy. They advised that the hair loss is right off the bat starting in the beginning and many patients stop taking it just from that. As did I. It is not worth waiting to see "IF" it will cut down migrains risking loosing hair, the wieght issue and severe back pain.

For the first time in 40 years, my migraines have significantly decreased in amount and intensity. At first it felt like a miracle medication. I just finished my third month and I have developed terrible joint and muscle pain to the point where I am wondering if I should continue to take this medication or not.

I had a head injury in Jan 2019 (with Dx of post concussion syndrome) and I have been experiencing chronic headaches. My neurologist prescribed Emgality in Oct 2019. I took my second injection Nov 2019. Since then, I have been to the ER 2 times; the first time with a severe headache, the second time with extreme anxiety. In the last two months I have had problems with insomnia, constipation, but the worst symptom is this free floating anxiety. I will not take the Emgality again. I believe it might not be effective for me because my headaches may not be migraines. I was relieved to read reviews from others regarding their symptoms of anxiety because I had not made the connection between the Emgality and my anxiety. Read More Read Less
