I am 30 years old and I was prescribed Tamiflu after being diagnosed with the flu. I felt better within a few hours of taking it. I was amazed. I was really sick and was worried that I may have to be hospitalized. I had been running a high fever and could hardly breathe. The only downside were the side effects. They were pretty bad. It left a terrible taste in my mouth and made everything I ate a...
My daughter was given tamiflu for early treatment of the flu. Even after the flu shot, I came down with a terrible case of the flu. Within hours of taking the first dose of Tamiflu, I sweat heavily and broke the fever. The severe chills and aches were gone, too. This threw me off because the exhaustion and "spaciness" lasted more than one week. I would get out of bed feeling foggy-brained but better, only to quickly end up exhausted and back in bed for a few more days. Sometimes, I would just lie in bed spaced out for hours. So, Tamiflu reduced my symptoms, but I was still "out of comission" for more than a week and still require assitance caring for my two young children 10 days later. I also have a terrible dry cough that requires almost around the clock use of an inhaler and a cough suppressant to sleep, and sometimes, just to talk. It's now 10 days since my first flu symptoms arrived. Both of my daughters (1 & 3) were given the liquid, which seems to have prevented infection, at least so far. The 1-yr-old often cried and had gas following a dose. My 3-yr-old hated the taste and eventually broke out into a severe and sudden case of hives, so we were instructed to stop the medicine. She also complained of stomach upset (discomfort) during the 9 day period she took it. Clearly, I have mixed reviews on this medicine.Read More Read Less

I have stomach problems anyway so I expected that side affect and I never had it. I got Tamiflu for fever, body aches, sore throat and pressure in my ears. By day 2 I was cleaning my house but took on a little too much too fast. Days 4 and 5 I still had my sore throat but my pressure became a full blown earache. My nose also became stuffy. While I recommend Tamiflu for the flu beware of where it takes you...like the spring cold. I don't believe I had ANY side affects and there are a bunch listed in your paper you get with your medicine... if you can read it.Read More Read Less

Stopped the flu in it's tracks, started to take it within 24 hours of symptoms (chills and fever) and did not experience any congestion or soar throat.

I'm on my second day of treatment and I feel 100% better than I did yesterday. Within hours of taking the first dose my fever broke and I actually slept a little. So far I haven't experienced any side effects because I've been eating toast right before taking it. I would still be dying in bed if the doctor hadn't prescribed this medication.

Helped with aches, fever, pains maybe; had to stop taking due to GI upset. Five days later I still can't get my stomach back in order and horrible stomach pain still. It has been anything but plesant.

This is my second round with the flu in less than 5 weeks and my second round with Tamiflu. It did help relieve some of the symptoms both times but the vomiting and nausea is to much to handle, even eating when taking does not do much help. I would rather be home in bed with a fever than at work vomiting every 20 minutes of the day. And let me warn you, this is not your run-of-the-mill vomiting. I am talking violent heaving!!!

Aside from the price of the drug, this pill within taking it the first few days had me up and fucntioning. I really recommend this product to getting over the flu quicker than 'just riding it out'. No need to suffer no more.

I ended up in an ambulance and emergency room on my third morning of Tamiflu. I had climbed three flights of stairs and couldn't catch my breath after 20 minutes. I finally collapsed and could not move my arms and legs or urinate on command for 3 hours. I thought I had had a stroke. It scared me to death. It is now two weeks later and I am still very short of breath and am now taking the elevator.

I just got out of the hospital after coming down with the flu which aggrevated my asthma. The tamiflu has heled greatly with the symptoms and I am already starting to bounce back after only taking it for two days. Both my parents have the flu and have had it for several days. They agreed in the future if they got it again, they would get to a doctor quickly and get Tamiflu.

I started my symptoms on tuesday morning, started the Tamiflu in the afternoon, I vomiited twice and slept all day. That night I sweat off my fever and woke up with my t-shirt soaking wet. I do feel a 100% better 2 days later. I do still have the sneezing, running nose and cough but I can deal with this. This stuff was a ife saver and it was well worth the money that I had spent on it.

This stuff was like a miracle after the first couple of doses (the second one really seemed to do the trick). My nose, which had been running like a faucet, slowed down to almost nothing, and the aches and chills went away, as did the fever. The only negative thing was the itchy rash I developed after taking the last dose - had to get a prescription for prednisone called in, as benadryl wasn't working! Would definitely recommend, though - great for the flu, and kept me from being miserable.

My husband and daughter both had the flu, They perscribed Tamiflu to us all. My 2 year old and I both avoided getting the flu, with no side effects at all. Both my husband and daughter ended up with just mild cases, getting better much faster, also with no side effects!
