I have my 4 shots of Vaccines, 3 Modernas and one Pfizer, with the last one being merely a month ago. I began feeling some cold symptoms last Wednesday but the home test kit showed a negative for Covid. Thursday felt worse, with more intense headache and fever. I tested again and got positive. Both Wed and Thu nights, my throat felt itchy and I did not sleep well. Friday morning saw a family do...

Within 24 hours my fever broke, headache was gone, no more sore throat. Definitely would recommend for treating Covid-19. The side effects were an intense metallic taste, nausea and the most miserable yeast infection I've ever had in my life. If you're a woman be sure that they give you a prescription for a yeast infection when they put you on Paxlovir because that alone feels like hellfire.

My Friend (Female), tested positive for covid and I suggested that she request a prescription for Paxlovid. It seemed to have worked. However, during and after completing the 5 day regiment (3 pills twice daily), she COMPLETELY lost her libido (sex drive). Prior to starting the treatment she had a VERY, VERY Robust sex drive. I reached out the CDC & Pfizer on her behalf and both made claims that they were unaware of this side affect. And was somewhat dismissive. It's panicked her and she's reached out to her Primary Care Physician & of course she only has access to the published side affects which does not include loss of libido. We're on day 5 of completing the dosage and NO change in her condition/side affect. Is this something that's happening to others and just not being recognized or recorded/reported because it may hurt sales. Or is this side affect just a one off? Read More Read Less

Background: Male, 58 years old. Vaccinated and double boosted. Symptoms started on Saturday July 23rd or Sunday. Test negative on Sunday night. Slept well on Sunday night. Slept horribly on Monday night with lots or hard coughing and fever. Tested positive on Tuesday morning and acquired Paxlovid by early Tuesday afternoon (Day 3 or 4 from symptom onset). By Tuesday afternoon still had fever, was lethargic and took naps. Took first dose early Tuesday afternoon and second dose by midnight. Slept reasonably well and was not bothered by cough. Fever is mild and using Tylenol when needed. Sinuses are clear. It is now Thursday evening, I have taken five doses and I feel almost symptom free. Not 100% but nothing to complain about. I have had mild side-effects but it is hard to tell what is Covid or Paxlovid side effects. I have been thirsty and had dry mouth. Used Gator Ade ( I am a normal water drinker) as it also helps provide some calories. My stool is a bit soft. I am a happy camper. Read More Read Less

I’ve only been on this for 2 days. I don’t think it’s made me better or worse but the taste is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever had in my life. And it’s not just when taking the pills. I have never ending cotton mouth even drinking ungodly amounts of water and my mouth has a constant bitter/metallicy taste that is actually making me nauseous. The only thing that helps is having gum in my mouth constantly which I can’t do when I’m sleeping sooo I don’t sleep good. It’s the more terrible medication I’ve ever had to take I swear I’m more miserable from this taste alone than my previous typical covid symptoms. Read More Read Less

Take this with a grain of salt if you’d like because I didn’t even make it a full two days on this medication. The taste, wow, the taste. It taste like someone shoved a metal grapefruit into my mouth. It made me absolutely disgusted. I have no taste or smell, but can taste the awful taste the medication leaves. I had COVID for 6 days before starting the medication. I feel worse with the medication. Nausea that I didn’t have before, a headache I didn’t have before, the taste in my mouth, horrible nightmares, and overall miserable. Again, I know I didn’t make it more than two doses but I give up. I’ll take the fever and cough over these dreadful side effects. Read More Read Less

At the moment it has worked well. Today has been the first day. Today is July 20 2022. I just took the first dose for afternoon. I’ll have to take the night time soon. I am always afraid to take medicine, but today I took a chance on it. Please, wish me luck on the remaining. I’ll keep everyone posted on my progress. The taste is rather metallic but nothing that I couldn’t tolerate.

This review is for everyone like me, who do not like taking medicines and may be sensitive and stress about side effects. What people don’t realize, antivirals are some pretty strong drugs. Everyone’s body chemistry is different, and my situation may be a little different. I have been on antivirals in the past, Truvada and Descovey for PREP. When I started the Truvada, it did ramp up my anxiety, and gave me diarrhea. The Descovey made me extremely nauseated. So about this medicine. I woke up day 5 of my COVID symptoms (second go around) being very short of air. So I was prescribed the Paxlovid. I took the first dose that night and the second dose the next morning, and by that afternoon, my congestion was gone and I felt much better. So overall, it did what it was suppose to do. My symptoms were the weird taste in my mouth. I only found it super unbearable when I would wake up in the middle of the night with it and my mouth was dry. On Day 3, I felt like I had been ran over with the horrible muscle aches, but they only lasted that one day. Those were my only side effects from Paxlovid. Now as I stated, I’m a little different, the previous antivirals have left me with high creatine levels, so I only took 150mg/100mg, not the 300/100. So it might be possible that since I didn’t take the highest dose, maybe that’s why I also didn’t have such strong side effects. I’m curious as to why if 150/100 is sufficient, why they even prescribe the 300/100. Oh well. Today is my last day of the medicine. Now I pray I don’t get the rebound. As long as that doesn’t happen, I am very satisfied with the medicine. Read More Read Less

Felt rocky on Monday, by Tuesday was definitely sick. Staggered to the clinic that day for testing and came back Covid positive Wednesday. Started Paxlovid the next morning and actually bounced back pretty quickly. Whether or not that was a byproduct of the anti viral or the result of lots of rest, vitamins and fluids I can’t say but am willing to give the treatment the benefit of the doubt. The only side effect I experienced was the coppery metallic taste in my mouth. Took the last of the five-day course tonight. Still feeling a bit sluggish, short of breath and experiencing lingering sinus congestion but I’ll take that over having felt like death warmed over last week.Read More Read Less

I am a 25 yr old female who doesn’t have any other illnesses and I was given paxlovid when I was confirmed positive for covid. I have both of my Pfizer vaccines and no booster. Covid hit me really hard and I had almost ever symptom except for a stuffy nose and I could still taste and smell. The first 2 dosages gave me diarrhea and the after taste was horrible. Around the 3rd dosage I noticed my skin turning red and when I woke up the next day I had a full blown rash. I was advised to stop taking paxlovid and I started taking Benadryl to help with the rash. It has been four days since I’ve taken the 3rd dosage and my skin is still very red and itchy. The side effects definitely outweighed the benefits of taking this pill. Read More Read Less

I took this starting at the end of day 2 of symptoms. Within 12 hours, I was feeling better. Lower heart rate, not foggy in my head and energy back to normal. The downside so far: frequent urination, a metallic taste in my mouth and my tongue in particular, and an immediate yeast infection (within 24 hours) I think the medication is worth the side effects since it is better than Covid symptoms.

Besides the nasty metallic taste in my mouth, this saved me from the hospital and from death. I was SO incredibly sick 24 hours after COVID test and I started feeling better 24 hours after taking my first dose.

56 yo Male. 2 shots. 2 Boosters. (All Pfizer.) Had mild symptoms for 2 days and took a COVID test the 3rd day. It was positive, so I called and got prescription for this that same day. In the two hours between the telemedicine visit and the delivery of the meds, symptoms got MUCH worse and I took first dose as soon as it was in my hands. The next 24 hours were pretty awful, but by about the same time the next day I felt tremendous and continued to feel pretty good through the remainder of the 5 day medication course. The only side effects I can mention are the taste of the meds (like leather to me), and... well, it made me irritable as all get out. Quick to anger, short tempered, whatever you might like to call it. I was very unpleasant to deal with until about 24 hours after the last dose. While this might have been due to other factors (everyone in the house has covid, including my wife, son and mother), it was really like a switch before and after starting/ending the meds.Read More Read Less

Tested positive and started Paxlovid by end of Day 1. I am immunocompromised. Symptoms were mild initially, with stuffy head and fever upon waking on Day 2 and Day 3. On Day 4, I awoke to severe diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal Pain. I was unable to keep even water down. I ended up in the ER on fluids and medication to settle the nausea. The physician recommended I stop the Paxlovid. day 5-7, as my digestive tract slowly improved, the fatigue kept me mostly in bed. Felt better by day 8. The taste of this medication is indescribably bad. Read More Read Less

I started taking this medicine on day 4 of my symptoms. Within an hour of taking it, I had a bad taste in my mouth and throat that was very metallic and soapy. It did seem to help with my breathing which I’d had trouble with before taking it. It kept me up all night, gave me horrible headaches, nausea, made me sick(vomit) when I ate, diarrhea, frequent urination, a yeast infection, a sore tongue with bumps, and indigestion. I take my last dose this am and hope the side effects go away soon. I never want to take this again. Read More Read Less

64 yr old female, 100 lbs, into urgent care with all covid symptoms (fever, headaches, nausea, body pain, sore throat & coughing up yellow phlegm). Covid positive & put on Plaxovid on day 5 of symptoms. One full day dose erased ALL symptoms. On day 3 and have energy today. Hardly any cough. No headaches! No fever! Bad tasting - the worst. Slight bout of diarrhea but took immodium & have no other problems. The payoff was definitely worth the side effects for me!

43 year old double vaxxed and 1x boosted (all Pfizer) female, borderline obese but otherwise healthy. Prone to bronchitis when I get colds. Began to feel a tickle in my throat on 7/15, put my mask on at work just in case I was getting sick. Got home and by that evening had a low grade fever and dry tickle cough. Body aches and chills. Tested negative on home rapid test. 7/16 was bad, heavy head congestion and pressure, bad chills and aches that were only relieved for an hour with my alka seltzer cold meds. Spent the day in bed under heavy blankets. Tested again 7/17 and got an instant positive, within 30 seconds of the test strip in the solution. Called my doctor and they recommended urgent care visit, where I was prescribed Paxlovid. Took dose one at noon on the day of the positive test. Almost instant bad taste in mouth but it disappeared after about three hours. I didn’t have the instant improvement in symptoms some have had, but I just took my third dose of Paxlovid and I will say I’m starting to feel some improvement! Still have a ways to go but overall I am pleased that this med is available to us. Praying for no rebound! Will update once course is finished. Read More Read Less
