I have my 4 shots of Vaccines, 3 Modernas and one Pfizer, with the last one being merely a month ago. I began feeling some cold symptoms last Wednesday but the home test kit showed a negative for Covid. Thursday felt worse, with more intense headache and fever. I tested again and got positive. Both Wed and Thu nights, my throat felt itchy and I did not sleep well. Friday morning saw a family do...

Kidney transplant recipient. Experienced body aches, low fever, mild/non-productive cough, and fatigue. Prescribed Paxlovid on testing positive for COVID-19. The morning after the first dose I experience the metallic taste but body aches seemed better. The taste caused loss of appetite and I was nauseated. By the second dose, I began vomiting. I could not hold down anything. I stopped after day t...

I ate some rice to combat the sour taste in my mouth and it completely helped. So far I’m only on day 2 if this medication and my energy is great. I still have a sick feeling from the virus but glad I’m not on deaths door. To the guy that bragged he threw his away because it was experimental, um dude why take the energy to pick it up, why not deny it and someone else can use it ??

Tested positive for Covid and took first dose of Paxlovid. Within one hour of taking the medication, a horrible, bile like taste permeated my mouth and only seemed to get stronger with each passing hour. By the time I took the second dose that evening, I couldn't sleep, had severe diarrhea, the taste in my mouth felt like it was consuming me....it was all I could think about. My symptoms did not subside very much at all. Now dealing with body aches, foul taste and diarrhea on top of the Covid. Will not continue with this medication at all. Read More Read Less

There is definitely a metallic taste in my mouth...I will be glad when it goes away...but I can't complain about how well the symptoms were eradicated...body aches, headache, runny nose, sore throat, watery eyes, fever, tight chest, and low blood O²...all suddenly better on day two of Paxlovid. Pfizer, y'all put the special ingredient in Paxlovid...lov!

I tested positive for covid, and because I have been type one diabetic most of my life, my doctor prescribed Paxlovid. After the second dose, the nausea, along with the terrible taste in my mouth became more than I could handle. I chose to stop taking it, and take my chances.

Started med on morning of day 3 of covid symptoms after positive test result. Within 24 hours fever went down, headache lessened and body aches subsided. By day 2 of med had terrible diarrhea and metal mouth taste. I kept a cinnamon stick in my water and tea at all times and this helped the mouth taste. By 3rd day of med my system adjusted and I was able to do most things at home and didn't feel like I had covid - just felt tired, weak and spaced. Day 5 of med, still testing positive for Covid but I don't feel very ill. I would recommend it but caution that this is a very strong med so be prepared a less dangerous sort of misery. I began Paxlovid as soon as I found out I Was positive for Covid. I have asthma, so I was scared of what was in store for me had I not started it. I’m also double vaxxed and boosted fyi. The medicine immediately caused a terrible taste in my mouth and a foul smelling vaginal discharge - possibly a yeast infection. However, after taking it for 24 hours it halted the covid symptoms and I began to get better. So I’ll take the bad side effects if I didn’t have to end up in the hospital on oxygen!

My main complaint is that so far nowhere on the internet - I have been looking for over an hour - can I find how long Paxlovid stays in your system. I need to go back to some other med now and everyone says ‘ once it is out of your system ‘ - but when is that ??? Does anyone know ? I did not have the bad taste and except for having to go to the bathroom more often, this drug only helped me. Thank you Pfizer but tell me how long it stay in my system once I am done ?

I came down with Covid ln late June. My symptoms were a slight fever, cough, and stuffy nose that felt like a bad head cold. I was put on paxlovid and within a couple of days 90 percent of my symptoms went away. The only side effect I had was a sour grapefruit-type taste in my mouth no big deal! This drug is a game-changer and will save countless lives from this horrible virus. Thank you Pfizer for coming out with this wonderful drug you are doing great work. I recommend if you come down with Covid please ask your doctor to be put on this medicine it will save your life.Read More Read Less

I started this medication on the 4th day of my symptoms after testing positive. The taste is horrible and for some reason the evening dose is worse than the morning. I have had extreme bloating and gas along with a vaginal yeast infection that just started once I began taking this medication. Most of my normal prescriptions that I take either had to be halted or decreased in dosage in order for me to take Paxlovid, which is stressful in its own. I have also been experiencing full internal body tremors. They usually happen when I’m sleeping and I will begin to wake up and feel my entire body buzzing/vibrating from head to toe. This has never happened to me before and is concerning. Along with the other typical side effects I have also been extremely tired. I am unsure if it is the Paxlovid or still the Covid symptoms, but I am finding it very hard to keep my eyes open throughout the day. Overall, this medication does work quickly and has helped to improve my symptoms but the side effects that come with it are also very concerning.Read More Read Less

This medication made my body ache, chills, and headache go away within 1 day of my initial symptoms. There is a metallic taste left in my mouth for a couple hours after taking the pills but it is a small price to pay for relief from the covid symptoms.

This made me feel better but the taste was awful to the point I considered stopping it. Eating chunks of frozen fruit like strawberries helped a lot. Also cinnamon candy helped temporarily get rid of taste. I did get better immediately so I continued the meds.

I was really really sick... 102 to 103 fever for about 36 hours strait. I told myself if I was not better by the morning I was going to go to the hospital. After the 3rd dose ... I went to bed and woke up and felt cured. I was wiped out for days.. but I could tell the virus was beat. I did have a bad taste in my mouth and diarrhea... but I would rather have that than what I was dealing with prior. I was thankful to the the drug and have recommended it to many people.

I am starting the second day, not sure if it is because of this medicine but I feel somewhat better. The doc told me that for fully vaccinated people Paxlovid works marginally. So just in case I am taking it. I think what I got is the Omicron bug. So they say it is not as strong strain and resolves quick if vaccinated. So hopefully with Paxlovid it will get rid of the virus even faster. Not sure. I did feel terrible two nights ago with a strong headache, muscle ache and fever. I did not know it was this virus. So next day I decided to take a home test and another test at my local Urgent Care clinic. Both gave a positive result, unbelievable because I was a fanatic freak protecting me from this bug, using a mask, desinfecting everything, carrying a small bottle of alcohol with me at all times and drowning on alcohol. But I went through a rough period in my life recently and felt my defenses were down physically and mentally. That's when the virus hits. About the metallic taste of Paxlovid, yes it is awful but when I eat food it goes away, worst part is in the middle of the night waking up to this extremely sour taste which reassembles chewing a non coated aspirin. Yuck! I will try chewing a cough drop such as Halls to see if it helps with that terrible taste and also my dry cough. But I won't give up taking Paxlovid because of this. Read More Read Less

Dx 7/7, was prescribed this med, day 2 was the absolute worst! With one full day of meds i honesty believe this medication made my symptoms go away faster! Now it’s day 3 and the fever, hot and chills and body aches are gone! I still have this awful cough , sore throat and now diarrhea which is a side effect from the med. I did experience the bad taste but didn’t realize it was from meds until I read these reviews! Cough drops has help with the bad taste and sore throat!

Started Paxlovid 24 hours after my positive covid test. Because of my asthma I was terrified when I found out I was positive. Vaccinated & boosted. Yes the taste is not the most pleasant and I could barely find anything that agreed with my stomach or tastes. I started feeling better on the third day. This medicine was a life saver. However, the stomach issues and constantly running to the bathroom with runny bowel movements caused me hemorrhoids. But with all of that it was definitely worth the horrific experience of Covid with asthma. Read More Read Less

After one full day (2 doses) I stopped feeling worse. After two full days I started feeling better. After three days I started getting my energy back. If only they could find a way to get rid of the incredibly horrible metallic taste in your mouth that doesn’t go away until you stop taking it. Then it would be perfect. The bad taste isn’t just a bad taste. It is like you’re constantly chewing on metal and doesn’t go away even with gargling and brushing.

My very young adult son began this medication 2 days after being diagnosed with Covid. He was very ill- vomiting some, fever, and hurting in his chest. (He’s the kind of kid that doesn’t stop for much and this was kicking his butt.) After one dose (and we started with the evening dose), he felt a little better, after 2 doses, he was up trying to do his normal stuff (which he tired out after 15 minutes). After dose 3, he told me he felt normal. Haha. That’s where we are now. So, I definitely have seen quick improvement taking this medication. Yes, he says he has a bad metal taste in his mouth and he wants to quit taking it. But in a day and a half he feels so much better! Read More Read Less

I started paxlovid on day 2 of testing positive. My covid symptoms were horrible headache, nausea, diarrhea and exhaustion. I Took a total of 3 doses. my symptoms of nausea diarrhea exhaustion got worse. I also developed new symptoms of stomach bloat and metallic metal taste in my mouth. I stopped taking medication. Next day feeling better which is now day 7 from testing positive. I would say if you have chronic medical conditions lung symptoms discuss with your physician prior to stopping medication. Do not base on individual personnel review of medication.Read More Read Less

Second time getting COVID and this has helped tremendously. First day of the medicine I felt a little Light on my feet. Some light headedness. Second day cough and congestion went away. 3rd day I was in the clear. I started the medicine just two days of feeling the systems of COVID. Overall I recommend the medicine for future use.
