I have my 4 shots of Vaccines, 3 Modernas and one Pfizer, with the last one being merely a month ago. I began feeling some cold symptoms last Wednesday but the home test kit showed a negative for Covid. Thursday felt worse, with more intense headache and fever. I tested again and got positive. Both Wed and Thu nights, my throat felt itchy and I did not sleep well. Friday morning saw a family do...

Kidney transplant recipient. Experienced body aches, low fever, mild/non-productive cough, and fatigue. Prescribed Paxlovid on testing positive for COVID-19. The morning after the first dose I experience the metallic taste but body aches seemed better. The taste caused loss of appetite and I was nauseated. By the second dose, I began vomiting. I could not hold down anything. I stopped after day t...

Received it on the 3rd day of covid. Severe aches and flu like symptoms disappeared overnight. Nearly 1005 recovered after the 2nd day's dose. Lingering very bad taste in the mouth for 5 days was a small price to pay for feeling good so quickly.

Woke with scratchy throat Saturday. Developed cough Sunday. By Monday I felt like like I was hit by a truck. Took home test and was positive. Tuesday I had teledoc appt with my doctor. He prescribed Paxlovid and a steriod. Started meds that evening. Felt a lot better before bed that same day. I do have a taste in my mouth, most people say its a metallic taste. I'd describe it as tasting like I've been sucking on an aspirin. Its pretty rank but much better than feeling like I was.

My wife and I both developed Covid symptoms after a trip, we are double boosted. The Paxlovid has really reduced the symptoms after only three doses. I have a mild bitter taste in my mouth but my wife has described a strong, nasty persistent metallic taste. She has been able to use Tums to control the bad taste.

I am vaccinated & boosted. Pfizer- I am immunocompromised because I take Humira for Ulcerative Colitis. I Sunday I went to bed with a scratchy throat and in the middle of night woke with fever, chills, sore throat, the works. This is my 2nd time with Covid. Last time in December. Monday I tested positive. Doctor prescribed meds and by Monday evening I had my first dose of the 3 pills. In the middle of the night I had a horrible taste in my mouth!!! Absolutely disgusting. But by the morning my symptoms had subsided. I just have a “mild” cold. I am amazed how quick and how well it worked especially since last time I took over the counter stuff and the symptoms lingered for weeks. But the taste in my mouth now on Tuesday night… is BAD. Brushing, mouthwash, eating…. No luck. Gum helps but I constantly have a fresh piece by the bed while I continue to isolate.Read More Read Less

Seven weeks after my second booster, I developed Covid. The Paxlovid tasted like stomach bile, but fruit-flavored gum and cough drops helped get me through that. Symptoms improved within two days and I had no rebound.

Prescribed Paxlovid by "virtual doctor" after 2 positive Covid home tests. Day 2 I'm about the same as when I started. The horrible taste in your mouth is hard to get rid of.. brushing.. gargling flushing out with water. Not much help. If the Paxlovid gets rid of the Covid and the awful coughing I'll pay that price...it's only 5 days.

COVID-19 diagnosis with pre-COVID health conditions of asthma & high blood pressure. Age 60. Started Paxlovid on June 8th after 2 positive COVID tests on June 7th. 5 days later, I am feeling much stronger- no fever, no aches, no congestion and no nausea. However, hate the bad taste left from medication. Also, many nights I felt like I smelled someone cooking and it burning, but no cooking being done. Weird. No other side effects although I believe it's because I am on immune support EnerPrime (doubled dose), delta-E (4 packets day) and Nanosol D-3. Yes, I was received 2 vaccine shots and received booster. Still caught COVID-19.Read More Read Less

Mild sore throat, nasal congestion and headache began June 10th. Tested positive June 11th. Began taking the Paxlovid the same day. Just finished my fourth dose with very mild side effects. No nausea etc., only a mild bad taste. (History of asthma/COPD)

75 year old Female,Vaccinated x2, Boosted x1, with prior coronary artery and peripheral artery issues. Began to feel sick on June 4, 2022 with headache, sore throat, and fatigue. Covid PCA test positive on June 5, 2022. Asked my primary care about PAXLOVID, and she determined that I was a candidate, due to multiple health issues. The first dose produced the bad tongue taste and mild nausea. The second dose produced a 6 hour marathon of vomiting and diarrhea, so severe that I had to call 911. Subsequently seen in ER and admitted to hospital for 3 days to recover from dehydration and a subsequent GI bleed. I believe that this was a complication of the medication. I cannot recommend this medication. I wish I had never taken it. Problems after its administration were greater for me than the inconvenience of the covid symptoms. Read More Read Less

Horrible taste in my mouth, felt like I was high within 3 hours of taking med and very drugged. Had a bit blurry vision. Stopped taking after 2 doses! Gave me also total upset stomach and a bit of insomnia.

Day 1 Woke up with a sharp sore throat and sinus drip nonstop- thought it was allergies, very tired by end of day Day 2- I developed a headache, very scratchy throat, chest congestion, periodic brain fog, and body aches so I took 2 home Covid tests to be sure- both positive. Started Paxlovid on afternoon day two, Mucinex, Zyrtec, magnesium. Metallic taste, slight diarrhea but ate bananas and bread to control with Gatorade. Lots of lemon water, honey with tea. Day 3 chest congestion & cough breaking, still tired, minimal aches, feeling much better so far. Very effective. Grateful.Read More Read Less

The horrible taste in my mouth is virtually unbearable…. Not sure if I can continue. I’ve only taken 2 doses. Covid Symptoms started yesterday- headache and nauseous all day. It just wouldn’t get better so took a test It was positive. Took paxlovid once last night and once this morning. I’m so nauseous and with such a terrible headache I don’t know if it’s covid or the meds. I took anti nausea meds & lots of Tylenol but no relief. The awful taste in my mouth is making it all seem worse. I think I may just stop taking it and take my chances. I’m 3x vaccinated so hopefully I’m ok. Read More Read Less

I tested positive for Covid 4/4/22 and started Paxlovid on 4/5/22. I developed dysgeusia by the evening of the first day of treatment. it was overwhelming. It decreased after finishing the treatment course, but has persisted and plated. It has negatively affected my quality of life, desire to eat and/or enjoy eating. It is bothersome during the night and interferes with sleep. I am a vegetarian and all types of peppers and tomatoes are particularly unpleasant to eat, as well as other foods and beverages. I have chronic low grade nausea. I eat lozenges, lifesavers, breath mints, and dried ginger with minimal relief. I was pretty sick for a week with Covid, so I am not sure the medication helped reduce the severity. I was vaccinated X 3 Moderna before getting Covid. I have mild asthma and some inflammatory conditions, I hope Paxlovid would reduce Covid symptoms and chance of longhair. The dysgeusia is very concerning and this far out I am concerned it will not go away. Read More Read Less

I am 75 years old. I tested positive for Covid after family exposure. Woke up in the middle of the night with severe muscle aches and sore throat. Doctor prescribed Paxlovid because of diabetes and other immunosuppressive issues. Sore throat, headache and muscle aches continued. Had terrible night sweats for two nights. Cough started on day 3 and got progressively worse and continues severe on day 7. My back and ribs ache from coughing. I had really no side effects other than that terrible taste in my mouth which was minor compared to everything else. This medication didn’t do much for me. Read More Read Less

Paxlovid worked for me as far as my covid-19 symptoms went but it did cause my heart rate to go steadily down to a low of 47 beats per minute. I was advised by medical staff to stop it after 4 days of taking it. After I did stop taking it my heart rate went back up to 60. It states that if you are on plavix or brilinta you should not take paxlovid. I have had severe reactions to brilinta in the past so I am wondering if there is a correlation of my heart rate lowering because of paxlovid and my previous reaction to brilinta from my heart stents? Is it possible that if you have a bad reaction to brilinta you will also have a bad reaction to plaxlovid? The following age of patient is wrong I am over 60 years old.Read More Read Less

Other than a bitter taste which can be mitigated by chewing sugar free mint Trident, it’s a fantastic drug! A huge improvement after the first dose. Incredible. Highly recommend it.
