I love Yasmin!! I didn't gain any weight, my face is super clear, it's easy to use and i didn't get any side effects like breast tenderness, etc. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I would advise any young woman NOT to take this pill. I almost died taking it with the uncommon side effects. I was diagnosed with pulmonary embolisms, pneumonia and pulmonary hypertension within 2 months of taking this pill. when i was prescribed Yasmin, no steps were taken to ensure I would stop smoking, loose weight etc, it was a 5 minute appointment with my gp and I was sent on my way. This is the ONLY birth control i have used that hasnt upset my stomach caused spotting or made my hair fall out-literally! my cycles were a lot better and a lot less cramping as well. I love it but it is the most expensive on the market. Still-I love it!

Had to many side effects: did not regulate periods, bloated all the time, did not help cramps, either. Would not take again.

First month experienced nausea and vomiting for no apparent reason also mood swings and severe headaches. After two visits to the M.D. and the E.R. decided myself that this pill is the root of all these symptoms. We will see. Stopped taking it today. All the reviews were very helpful in making my decision. THANKS!

I started taking Yasmin about two months ago. So far, I have noticed some breast tenderness that does bother me a bit, but that is the only negative side effect. My acne is clearing up nicely (I've had severe acne all my life, finally something worked). Prior to taking this pill, my PMS was out of control (terrible mood swings, bloating, debilitating cramps) but even in this short time it has mellowed out. My periods now last about 3 1/2 days as opposed to more than 7. I am concerned about long-term use, however. After reading many reviews from users taking this for 3 years or more, I might consider changing to a lower dose pill. I'd rather have bad cramps and heavier periods than heart trouble, migraines, and hair loss. Read More Read Less

I have been taking YAZ for a little while now and i have been very pleased with it. My periods are a lot lighter and very short as well, in relation to them in the past being very painful to the point that i couldnt get out of bed. this medicine has also done well with prevention and im VERY happy for that! [: (i also use another form of contraceptive though). overall, i am very pleased but be careful because birth control reacts differently with different people.

Worked great for less painful periods, but experienced strange heart palpitations, as well as my sister when she went on this medication. I also felt really sad at certain times of the month (more than usual) and eventually had no sex drive. Worked out great for my acne and excessive hair growth though. Quit taking it after 8mos. when I mysteriously got really ill and quit taking it to make sure it wasn't realated. Started taking yaz about three months later and now having the same heart issues. I'm switching to Lo Estrin to see how that works. I have extremely painful periods and debilitated every month by my period.Read More Read Less

This was the worst experience of my life! I can't believe it's still on the market. I weighed 107 when I started and in a month went down to 89 lbs. I've never been so sick in my life, and had no idea it was from this wretched pill! Thank God I found out. It caused a lot of health problems from the rapid weight loss. Extreme mood swings which were way out of character for me as well. I wish this were taken off of the market so it doesn't harm others!!!

During the 6 weeks that I took this bcp, I developed acne, terrible mood swings, rage for no good reason, fatigue, and I was bleeding for most of that time. I have never had any of the problems, in any form prior to taking the pill. In the end, suicidal thoughts scared me into stopping cold turkey. I am not on a different bcp with minor, tolerable side effects.

I was on yasmin 6 years and for the last year and a half have had a lot of heart problems and blood pressure problems, severe headaches and migranes, and bad mood swings for 2 weeks out of the month. The first 4 years on the pill were great I lost weight and my skin was clear all the time but be careful when you are on this pill for an extended period of time. I didn't think that any of my symptoms were related to the pill, and my dr's couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. When I switched off of it because of low sex drive all of my other symptoms went away!!! Pay attention to your body... Read More Read Less

I have been on Yasmin for 5 years and felt that it was amazing until recently when I started experiencing Mood Swings, depression, anxiety, migraines, general tiredness and decreased sex drive. I never had problems before this and now I get random heart palpatations as well I went off of it because I don't like feeling this way. be careful what you out into your body this was not a good experience.

But, i'm not as hungry so I not forsee any weight gain with taking this pill. Ive been extremly mellow, which is good. Less anxiety (plus). So far, I just dont like the fact my boobs are so swollen. I have large breast to begin with and the pill is making them bigger! And afetr I eat I nausea. But hopefully that will subside. I mean i've been taking for 7 days now. Read More Read Less

Ladies please beware of this product; do more research before taking this med. I took Yasmin for nearly 5 years before the side effects appeared. I was one of those women who swore by this product too. But now I've developed tinnitus, anxiety, depression, unexplained anger, hair loss, irregular heartbeat, indigestion, unable to wear contacts, and many more side effects. I just thought my body was changing because I was over 30 yrs. old. Prior to Yasmin, I was perfectly healthy and active. I'm 32 yrs old and wish i had my old life back. I've been off Yasmin for 6 wks now and my body is slowly coming back to normal. The anxiety and indigestion are under control; and my hair is starting to grow again. I'm not trying to preach to you, but just beware, don't rely on your GYN to research what he/she prescribes to go into YOUR body. Do your own research.Read More Read Less

After my 3 kids and a tubal my mood swings were horrible. I started Yaz. Yes I will admint the 1st month is the hardest. My mood swings got even worse. The doctor said it takes at least 3 months to get the drug in your system and adjust. After that I would not get of of this! Mood swings no more! I may get an occasional headache but my periods are light and short. No acne problems. I am very thankful for it.

Yasmine gave me horrible mood swings- especially anger swings. Brought on 2 migraines over one month and constant dull headache. I noticed some hair loss during the third month and decided to switch to a new pill after I finished that pack. Yasmine was definately not for me.
