Just because I did read so many 'bad' reviews when I started Sertraline.. I feel I owe the world my positive experience : ) My day to day life has changed from a constant battle to a breeze. Now I finally feel my normal self again, I realise how anxious and depressed I was. I am a intelligent high functioning person that still got by on shear will power. I have been taking it 2 months and only ...

Very little side effects, I have been on it for 12 years. I stopped taking it once and my B/P went back up. My doctor told me I would be on it for life. I did not like to hear that I would remain on it but it truly makes life better when working a very stressful job. Until I retire, I am better with it.

I began to experience anxiety for no reason. I'm a nurse and work in a fast paced environment so I thought maybe I was just stressed out at work. I called my doctor and requested to use this med. After four days of using it, I stopped. The side effects were awful, I was tired, irritable, and just couldn't function at work. My body had a strange tingling feeling and I felt like I could urinate my pants at anytime. These side effects pushed my anxiety over the edge.

After reading previous reviews, I certainly can see we all have different metabolisms--thats why it's important to have a trustworthy and competent dr. overseeing ones treatment. A chemical imbalance is ultimately responsible for a lot of our symptoms. Apprehension about seeking help is our 1st hurdle. We shouldn't let a bad experience with any (1) drug or type of drug deter us from finding relief. I myself, need to change my medication usually annually. (apparently I build up a tolerance). As I sense it happening, I freely and openly discuss with my personal physician and we either have tried a different med. or upped dosage at times. Over the last 8yrs. we have found that going back and forth between Paxil and Zoloft works best for my metabolism. Prozac and Climadyn weren't well tolerated (got worse). So, in conclusion, I like to say don't give up--you don't have to live life being depressed, anxious etc.. but it may take a few tries to find what chemical may be active, inactive, overactive in your system. KISS - KEEP IT(life) SIMPLE SWEETY! p.s. someday our dna will enable us to quickly and absolutely know what our bodies are in need of, in excess of, etc.. until then its trial and error, and my dr. I've chosen to trust. My own knowledge isn't always enough. Again seek help if you are having depression, anxiety or other problems -- the answer could be 1 appt. away. Read More Read Less

i have clinical depression for years. there was improvement with a few weeks along with seeing my doctor who was treating me for depression. dry mouth is the only thing that i did't like too much. i found that scuking on mints worked good to stop dry mouth for awhile. over the years, it became less of a problem.

Have used it for over 7 years, sporadically, for S.A.D.D; it has worked fairly rapidly, has been effective, has had minimal sexual effect.

It has even me out so that I don't panic as bad as used to or most times not at all. And I have been able to hold down a full time job since taking it.

Two side effects have been decreased desire to clean house & delay in ability to have orgasim. Much better than Paxil though! I also have taken this medication for severe depression and it saved my LIFE!

I wish that I had this medicine 30 years ago, I could have had a better quality of life. This has beeen amazing for my depression. I went from daily crying and miserableness constantly to where nothing even indicates I'm depressed anymore. A true blessing
