This product does work. I am a 35 year old woman with mild traction alopecia. I started seeing results after about 6 weeks. One side effect that I was not expecting is that I am getting hair growth in places I don't want hair. Be careful to cover any minoxidil-treated areas before you go to sleep. If it gets on your pillow, or drips from your scalp onto your face, you might notice small patch...

My barber commented on my receding hairline 4 months before my 18th birthday. I hadn't noticed it myself until and he said I was going to be completely bald by the time I was 20. I'd say I was 2 on the Norwood Scale. After having pretty bad acne through out my early / mid teen years and just about clearing up now, this news was devastating. I convinced myself, along with the help of family and friends, that I was not receding and that my barber was wrong. I went through a stage of denial and slight depression due to the thought of losing my hair at 17. However, this did not help as it put me off starting to use regaine (rogaine for those in America). Trust me, the sooner you start to use minoxidil the better. There is no shame. Once I started to use regaine I did not experience the 2 week shedding stage which led me to believe that minoxidil was not working. However, 3 months later I noticed lots of hairs growing on my temples where I had receded and my hairline was no longer looking thinner. If you're worried about losing your hair like me and do not want to go on finasteride (I live in the U.K. and I would need to be prescribed finasteride by my GP, or physician, which he was not willing to do due to my age and side effects) I would seriously recommend minoxidil - give it a go and if it doesn't work then at least you know you've tried. Well I have been using this products for 1 month and a few days but Believe me no side effects bugged me or no serious things scared me. Well It didn't improve anyhing in my hair till now but one thing it did is clear off blisters of my head that I used to have.. May be it takes time to show results so I will stick to it... Well I know one thing coming to this stage took me 4 years and a few months so I don't expect minoxidil to get me back where I was years back in a month or tow.

Started loosing my hair due to autoimmune disease and medication. Within 3 months of using this product my hair started to grow all over my head. After 5 months, the hairs are thick and about 3 inches in length. I now have more hair than I ever had. I love the result. Using the 5% mens with no side effects to date.

Long story shprt, I plucked out all my eyebrows when I was 14 and they completely stopped growing back. I've been using a pencil for the past 15 years. About 3 weeks ago, I decided to buy Equate Minoxidil 5% (for men). After a week,I started seeing very fine blonde hairs growing. The second week,I definitely started to see a major difference. I can't express how happy I am to finally get my eyebrows back after so many years of embarrassment and hassle!! I highly recommend this product to anyone suffering from thinning or no eyebrows. Horrible side effects! After couple of days starting to use it I have been having several episodes of dizziness, sinus tachycardia (120-176 bpm) and elevated Blood Pressure (most likely secondary to the tachycardia, even up to the 190/110). Have had an extensive workup and it all has been negative. Except for low potassium which is associated with this medication (at least the oral). Looking back I should have use it on dryer hair and spread it less. BUT THIS MEDICATION IS DOWN THE TOILET!!!! Will never use it, do not recommend it, will not recommend it to my patients. In the end the effects will also leave once you stop using it, so whats the point? Read More Read Less

I've been using it only 2 weeks, but must quit. Like one other reviewer. I am starting to have constant numbness in hands and feet, including lower legs and arms. It won't go away. It interrupts my sleep. Plus mild dizziness has started. For me, this is a dangerous drug. I am tossing the rest.

Saw growth at forehead after 3 mos. A year later my hair was fuller and my scalp no longer showed through. I have used minoxidil 2% without difficulty while flying etc. No negatives. Very pleased that my doctor prescribed it. I dab on with a small cotton ball X2 per day. Very easy.

I started to use the product only for 6 weeks and noticed all the hair has grown back in the small patch where it was balding. It's amazing! I'm not sure what will happen if I discontinue now that my hair has grown back, but I don't want to risk the benefits I've achieved by stopping using it. So I'll keep using it. Any advice?

Horrible drug.. Absolutely no good side effect. It's only beneficial when you are using it, it first throws off all existing hair, then it regrows. I started getting nausea, dizziness, and irregularities in my heart beat. Then my White Blood cells decreased and they have not been normal since. When you stop this medication, your hair falls out again and it takes FOREVER to grow back. And don't even get me started on how much my scalp itched when I used it... and I had dark eye circles even though I was sleeping well. This drug should be banned, it belongs in the garbage. Find other more natural ways to cure your hairloss or check what is wrong with your body. If I had some way to prove all this happened I would have filed a lawsuit. Take my advice, stay away from this.Read More Read Less
