I was prescribed this diflucan to take 1 a day for 3 days. Today is day 2 and itching has begun to clear up. Also- advice for those with recurring yeast infections or those who get them every time an antibiotic is taken: TAKE A PROBIOTIC DAILY This will help prevent yeast infections & can safely be taken daily without any drug interactions. The one I've used that works best for me is "Dr Ohhira'...

Had to take amoxycilin after surgery, and I got a horrible yeast infection. Went to my gyno afterwards, and she said that particular antibiotic is known to cause yeast infections. So she prescribed 2 doses of Diflucan. First dose made me nauseous, but I thought, "hey, what's a little nausea if it clears this up." Gave me a little relief. Took the second dose 4 days later, and while there was no n...

Got a yeast infection from a new birth control, called the doctor, got tested and they called in a Diflucan prescription. This pill is amazing! I took it once, had no side effects and noticed MUCH improvement after about 24 hours. Took the second dose 4 days later and again, no side effects at all! So much better than creams, yogert or anything OTC! Such a life saver.

Each time I took it, I felt the tingle of a cold sore within half an hour and become extremely fatigue with nausea. I didn't know this medicine was the culprit! 4/4 times, I had a cold sore after taking Difulcan!

I started taking it for thrush. Before the thrush was gone, I had a really bad flare up of athlete's foot and a ringworm. All fungi, all bad. The thrush is gone but now I'm left with itchy skin!

For the last month, I have been attempting to clear up a ringworm infection that has been spreading on the trunk of my body. I was using different types of prescription anti fungal topical creams, but had absolutely no improvement. I went back to my physician to discuss other treatment options, and she suggested adding Diflucan to my treatment regimen. Just two days after taking my first Diflucan pill (in combination with using a topical cream) I have seen a DRASTIC improvement. I am thrilled, as I was beginning to lose some hope for treatment. I definitely recommend this product.Read More Read Less

I had a rash on my buttocks and my Doctor thought I had a yeast infection. He gave me one 150 mg pill to take. Three days later I developed a red rash on my arms. Within 2 more days I was covered with a painful, itching rash over my body. I went to a Dermatologist and he felt it was from taking the Diflucan. I am now on a regime of Prednisone to cure the problem. I hope it works. I'll never take it again!

This is THE miracle drug for Yeast Infections. No more messy applicators that contain creams that burn and irritate. I still cannot believe that one pill can cure a YI so quickly. If my doctor puts me on an antibiotic for any reason, I always ask, can you give me a prescription for Diflucan because as we ladies know, for me, that is the #1 reason I get YI's to begin with.

This medication interacts with Warfarin (coumadin) therapy. Ended up in the E.R. because INR level 5. It should only been 2. If you are taking blood thinners, avoid this medication.

After experiencing symptoms of a YI for a few days, I called my doctor and the NP called in the prescription to my pharmacy. I picked it up an our later and took it right away. Within hours the itching and irritation went away and by day 3 it was completely cleared up. I will never go back to OTC creams again! This medication is amazing! I can't believe 2 little pills can be so effective! And with my insurance it cost only $3.

This is a good drug. Lot's of people don't realize that when they take it, it kills the yeast or fungal infections, and when fungus dies off it releases into your blood stream. That is why this drug makes you feel ill. With fungus and yeast problems you almost always have to feel worst then start to feel better. Prepare for a month long misery, be ready to lose at least 20 to 30 lbs if you are overweight, and trust me after a month you should start feeling better. Sickness, headache and hives are only reaction to die off fungus in your blood stream. Drink lot's of green tea and a little bit of Gatorade frost with no coloring for electrolytes. Take probiotics and enzymes. Avoid fruits and sugar filled products cause yeast and fungus feed on sugar. Avoid milk and eat less meat and more fish, try blending your veggies with Greek yogurt for better absorption. Be patient, start with the low dose first week and slowly increase the dosage, when you stop feeling side effects at normal dosage, that means that most of yeast has died off and it's out of body. I was taking one 200mg before bed, twice a week. Started seeing results after 3 weeks of usage. I'm returning user. Trying to take is twice a year to clean up of fungal issues. Hope you find this helpful.Read More Read Less

After being on Keflex antibiotic, I developed a vaginal yeast infection. Once I finally realized what was going on at te end of my run, I called the Dr. and one pill was prescribed. I took it and the yeast was gone after a couple days. :)

After years of recurring yeast infections I was becoming resistant to diflucan. The GOOD NEWS: recent research has proven that candida does NOT convert to a yeast infection inthe presence of biotin. For the past 6 months I have simply taken BIotin 1000iu 1-3x daily- I started in the middle of a yeast infection and within 2 days cured and have been infectin free ever since. During special occasions when I eat more sugary foods I need to take it 3x day. otherwise 1 a day.

This was prescribed to me to treat a fungal infection in my stomach and esophagus. After one 7 day treatment I found some relief, but it was short lived. The infection returned within a couple weeks, and also spread into my mouth. I was prescribed another 7 day treatment, and everything seemed to get better. A month later, it was back. Doctor prescribed a 7 day treatment, followed by a high dose 3 day treatment, and everything finally seemed to be looking up. Went to the doctor again just today, same symptoms, same infection returned. We have decided to use another anti fungal medication and run some additional tests. I've had this prescribed to me for vaginal yeast infections before with very little effectiveness. Not impressed at all.Read More Read Less

First ever yeast infection. My Rx was two doses, 24-48 hours apart. Felt relief during first dose. Second dose taken next day. After second dose: severe vomiting, loss of appetite, severe fatigue and muscle soreness. Day three spent ill with symptoms still present.
