I have had lupus for over 25 yrs . Have dealt with Chronic kidney failure for 15. Tried lg. dosages of prednisone and IV cytoxin for over 2 yrs. Many anti-inflammatory drugs. Then Cell-Cept. I would be on dialysis & transplant list had this drug not been used. It has stabilized my creatinine level at around 2. I take 2000 mg. daily. I have less joint pain now and function better than 2...

My Rhem. first put me on CellCept June 2006,after several other meds had failed to help. I was very tired & weak as we loaded my body; I lost most of my hair~ BUT as we hung in there afeter 18months & 180cc DeproMedrol IM every 28days with the CellCept, My Hair is back- double and its holding my Lupus antibotie numbers down. I still have to rest most days, but I have much more strength than before with any other treatments.

cellcept has appeared to get my hand eczema and psoriasis about 70 to 80% under control after about 3 months of use. My doctor has been monitoring my bloodwork every 2 weeks and it looks great. I had a follow up appt. today and he wants me to stay on cellcept for another 3 months and will re-evaluate at that time. If my hands are 100% fine, we will discontinue the cellcept.

I take Cellcept for MS. I am curently taking 750 mg bid. I was taking more and when I weened down I noticed that my vertigo got much worse I can't even go up to a second floor. So now I want to take more again. I think it works very well. It makes me a little naseous when I take it but that quickly goes away. I haven't lost much hair and I'm sorry to those who have.

Been on Cellcept for four years ( 500 mg x2). Good for controlling my lupus, bad for my stomach. It helps my skin, kidney, & stops the shortness of breath I was having. I'm able to feel almost normal. Oh, almost forgot.....my protein count drop from over 1000 down to 275...that's good for me!!!

I had swelling of the optical nerves and more test showed that I have an unknown autoimmume disorder. I was on Prednisone for over a year was gradually taken off. Other meds that I was given gave me side effects such as itching all over or they made me sick to my stomach. Cellcept has helped but my vision is still blurry and my hair is thinning. I hurt all over from sharp shooting pains in my feet, legs, hands and arms. I still get the sharp pains in my eyes but so far during my recent check up there is no swelling. I am just tired and achy all the time. Read More Read Less

I have had good luck with this drug. I was concerned when I found out that it can cause bad brain viruses. I tried to get off it and as I tried to wean myself off all of my MG syptoms started to come back and I didn't want to go to the depths of hell I was at before so I decided to take my chances. I feel like I am playing Russian Roulette but I don't feel like I have a choice.

I have an autoimmune disease brought on by pregnancy which causes a blistering rash to form. Normally it goes away after childbirth, but mine has not. I was on prednisone then my Dr. incorporated Cellcept into my treatment. It took a few weeks to help, but I did see some improvement in the condition (I have been on it for going on three months). Unfortunately, it didn't entirely clear it up so I've had to add another form of treatment along with the CellCept (but was able to stop the Prednisone, thankfully, because I had major side effects). However, I have a lot of bone pain and sometimes it is even difficult for me to walk without pain. I wonder if anyone else had had this side effect? I thought it was a result of the prednisone, but I have been off of that long enough for the side effects to diminish. Read More Read Less

Taking cellcept for 3 years now for catastrophic antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. No adverse reactions except I get sick a lot more. I have to be careful to stay away from sick people and carry hand sanitizer everywhere. I am now on 1000mg a day, but I took 2000mg for 2 years.

I was prescribed this medication along with Prednisone to treat an autoimune disease that began as a resh that eventually covered my body and developed into blistering on my torso, arms and especially my feet. A 17 day hospital stay and diagnosis from Mayo Clinic has put me on the road to recovery. I am very tired and fighting an infection/cold/cough that has lasted 3 weeks. I find that I need additional rest and being diabetic must make sure that all meds and meals are on time and on a regular schedule. Keeping my blood sugars in normal range has taken extra care. The swelling has been confined to my legs and ankles. Taking a water pill make additional potassium necessary and being anemic I have increased my diet to include more iron rich foods. Because this particular autoimune disease is rare, there is little information out there. Even the dermotologist/internist/wound clinic staff has had to do additional research. I may look into an on-line support group. Other info on Cellcept for this condition suggests that treatment can take 6-8 years and that it may go into remission. What a journey!Read More Read Less
