Zantac is awesome! I haven't found a medication better than Zantac for my heartburn and acid reflux. I highly recommend it!

I have GERD and take 40mg Nexium/day, but erosive esophagitis came back with pain. Added Zantac 300mg every night at bedtime to cover the 'bad' hours while sleeping and acids roaming through my esophagus. Definite improvement. Cheap, effective drugs; no side effects so far.

Gets rid of my pain in my right upper abdomen 95% of the time. The fact that it eliminates the pain most of the time has actually helped me identify which foods aggravate my symptoms. Before taking the medication, I was in pain so often it was impossible to determine a cause and effect relationship between any foods and my symptoms.

I TOOK THIS OTC MED FOR STRESS RELATED ACID REFLUX. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS I FOUND OUT I HAD C. DIFF,AN INTESTINAL BACTERIAL OVERGROWTH THAT CAUSES A MUCUS LIKE DIARRHEA (and can lead to pseudomembranous colitis, a severe infection of the colon, often resulting from eradication of the normal gut flora by antibiotics.)I THOUGHT THAT I HAD PICKED UP THE C. DIFF FROM ONE OF MY PATIENTS.(I'M AN RN) SO MY "DOCTOR OF ORIENTAL MEDICINE" STARTED ME ON THREE HERBAL MEDS. APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 60 DAYS LATER I READ AN ARTICLE IN A NURSING MAGAZINE THAT STATED THAT IN TWO DIFFERENT STUDIES ZANTAC WAS SHOWN TO CAUSE C.DIFF. AFTER SIX MONTHS A RETEST HAD SHOWN THAT MY C.DIFF WAS GONE --THANKS TO THE HERBALS !! I CONSULT WITH MY DR OF ORIENTAL MEDICINE AND STAY AWAY FROM PHARMACEUTICALS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. ESPECIALLY ZANTAC !!!!!!!!!! Read More Read Less

I developed corrosive esophagitis, which was horrible. It felt like I swallowed a rock and it got stuck in the middle of my sternum. I took Zantac and Nexium and the Zantac relieved my pain within hours. Definitely would recommend this medicine.

This works better than the other two medications Doc proscribed but....when I take it I wake up with a headache 90% of the time. I have taken the ranitidine then stopped taking then taken again several times to evaluate this. The headache is a painful direct effect of taking this med. I really wish this was NOT the case as it otherwise seemed to work pretty well.

I had been prescribed omeprazole for my heartburn and got a rebound effect when I stopped using it. So I tried Zantac and found that it works very well once you have the symtoms of heartburn.

Did very well on this for a stomach ulcer. Had one incident after 2 months which casued an emergency physician to prescribe Previcid which I took for one month and went back to Zantac. The Zantac does not cause the uncomfortable feeling that Previcid did and it seems to be healing the ulcer. I am still taking Zantac 2X/day.

my Dr. gave me this to take along with singulair and benadryl for severe allergies. Just wondering if anyone else has taken it for the same reasons.

I don't take Zantac, but know that if prisoners are on it, when they take a UA for drug use, the zantac users don't get counted as positive for meth even though they test positive for meth.

Works well for me. I take 150 mg once a day for maintenance. It has worked for about 2 years now. Tried other drugs with less help.
