I had acute radiation proctitis (inflamed rectum--a side effect from pelvic radiation). Proctofoam greatly relieved my discomfort.

DO NOT BUY THIS DRUG !!!!!!!!! A complete scam ! You can buy both active ingredients for approx. $12., instead of paying $137. at CVS. The "application system" is laughably complicated, and customer service is a joke.

Works, but horribly overpriced, and in an absurdly-designed, crappy, dispenser. Customer service at MEDA Pharma. was terrible.

This product is a waste of money! It was $30, which given I have a 20% co-pay, means this product is $150 for about 10 applications. The use recommendation is 3x a day, so you get 3 days of treatment. The applicator is the most convoluted thing I've ever seen and makes a mess more than anything. But the worst part? IT DOES NOT WORK. All it did was make the problem worse, like my you-know-what was literally on fire. If your doctor suggests this, tell her no thanks. I got better results with generic suppositories.Read More Read Less

Paid $141 for this medicine, insurance covered $9. Supposed to use for 7 days, 3xs a day. It lasted 6. It kept seeping out the side. It totally waste your money AND my tailfeather still itches.

Way too expensive and MEDICARE won’t cover this at all! Thank you to the reviewer who suggested goldbond anti-itch and generic cortisone 1%. My doctor must be crazy.

Worthless based on how much leaks down canister per how much it cost. Why don't insurance companies approved prescribed suppositories?

Its a nightmare to get the foam into the applicator. A lot of medicine got wasted each time I tried it. I thought I was unintelligent and did not know how to use it correctly. Evidently there are many that have the same opinion. The manufacturers must pay heed to it.

Foam doesn't flow into applicator. Just seeps under cap. Over $80 for this little canister. Hopefully, I can return to pharmacist.

Page will not allow 1 star, only allows 3 stars and up, with that said...oh give this products 1 star in every area xxxxxx 3 refills because medication gets wasted as it does not go into applicator....but definitely seeps out side of canister. $166.00 x 3 and what a waste of money. Would probably be a great drug if product didn't waste out sides. Called manufacturer, called pharmacy...it's like getting clearance for NASA. PLEASE BEWARE!

Dispenser would not work. Took it back to the pharmacy twice; each time they said yes, it works. No it didn't. Got a little foam out (half-filled) once. Applied to area. Burned like fire! Waste of money and numerous trips to the pharmacy.

This foam and dispenser is absolutely hideous to try to use. It is messy and ineffective. It doesn't relieve my pain and it is so incredibly difficult to use. A suppository would be so much easier.

Zero 0 stars on all choices. This medication should be taken off the market. Unable to follow instructions for getting foam into the proper tube for use. Wasted money and could not use the product.

I live in P.R. this medication is over 130.00 not covered under my insurance. I went to a pharmacy who told me to buy Gold bond anti itch cream that contains the same pramoxine and to buy hydrocortisone cream the same as Proctofoam hc , she sold me a small syringe and told me to use 1cc of each 3 or 4 times a day so that is what i am going to go get at this very moment. Thanks I hope this helps someone else, I have a fissure and take librax also. P.S. i had to fill in those stars to comment but i never bought the proctofoam too much mula!Read More Read Less

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that can't make the foam get into the applicator. I have felt something was wrong with how I did it. Appreciate all the other comments.

LOST A LOT OF THE FOAM BECASUE THE FOAM DID NOT GO UP INTO THE APPICATOR THE WAY THE DIRECTIONS SAID THAT IT WOULD..AND FOR THE BIG MONEY I PAID FOR THIS,IT WAS ALMOST A TOTAL LOSS....THEY NEED TO MAKE A BETTER WAY TO DISPENCE THE FOAM INTO THE APPLICATOR..

Used for a few days and did relieve discomfort for hemorrhoids with occasional bleeding, but not really to any greater degree than over-the-counter remedies. It is wildly expensive, even after insurance and got only 12 applications out of a 10g applicator. It seemed it was "half dead" before the first use. Unless the doctor specifies I continue using, forget it.

I find the way the dispenser has been designed is totally ludicrous! Luckily I have to use this as perianal application, which means i only have to dab it on a piece of tissue and apply it to the affected area. If I had to administer this into my anus, there is no way i could have done it. Since, not once have i been able to get any foam into the applicator!! It just squeezes out of the canister without even going into the applicator. It has only helped my itching slightly, heamorroid is still painful. So all in all, a bit useless for the price.Read More Read Less

needed pain relief from hemoroid after hard labor. This medication was difficult to administer and didn't work well for me at all. I still have pain and itching after using it now for 2x days.

Worst drug delivery system I have ever encountered, and I am a physician. The syringe is hard to fill, the pressurized canister is balky, the undersized applicator is hard to get into the right spot, and a lot of the foam pops right back out. Hydrocortisone suppositories are cheaper, easier to use (refrigerate them so they are firm), less messy, don't sting, and you don't have to wash and store something in your bathroom that just came out of your anus. Having tried it, I would never prescribe this product.Read More Read Less

I went to the ER and they gave me nothing. I went to my doctor and he is referring me to a surgeon, I have been in unbelievable pain. Getting this from the ER would have saved me for the 3 days I had to wait to see my doctor.
