I rarely have yeast infections, and used to (like many women) confuse bacterial vaginosis with yeast infections. If you have a bacterial infection, you will experience SO much pain using Monistat. I made that mistake before and will never again. This time around I bought the vagisil tester kit to determine if it was yeast or bacterial. This time it was yeast and the Monistat didn't burn at all. I ...

I've used Monistat 7 for years and it worked great. When I got a yeast infection recently, after 15 years of not having one, I tried Monistat 3. It burned terribly and didn't cure my infection. A week later, I tried Monistat 7 and it burned so bad I was crying. I then spent 6 frustrating months trying various cures prescribed by my doctor and from what I read on the internet. I even tried Mon...

If you have sensitive skin and a more severe yeast infection, its gonna burn. it sucks. but for me personally the pills doctors prescribe dont work and monistat has. i would like to remind you all everyone’s body is different. get a diagnosis first *if you can*, but it will help if its truly a yeast infection

Two of the ovules were super hard. The first one worked right, dissolved right away, but after that it was so hard, I didn't even try to use it that way again. I held it under hot water until I could peel off the outer shell and then it was fine. I doubt whatever that is made of is safe since it could harden and possibly take a longer time to dissolve than was intended.

So I got YI while 24weeks pregnant now and diabetic. It is also my first time experiencing it so i didnt know the extent of pain I am going through now. My OB prescribed me M7 but I went M3 instead because I want the faster cure maybe? LOL! I am hving a lot of itchiness, thin watery discharge that became a cottage cheeselike and started to smell and i can feel bumps on my vaginal wall. So I started my Day One yesterday and I was like what the hell if going on? Its like my whole reproductive system is on fiiiiiiiiire!!! It burns like hell. Itchiness got solid! And non stop discharge that I changed undies 4x after inserting the medication then finally decided to sleep without my undies. I was actually thinking of washing it off but I was thinking of the possible cure and -the money i spent for it LOL $21 at Rite Aid.. So Im like "ok I can do this!" Breathe in, Breathe out, drank a lot of water and finally was able to see this page and found out that its the side effects or a manifestation thay the medication is working. But then to my surprise I was able to sleep through the night.. the next morning, there was no itching and burning or whatsoever and so I peed.. and found about a teaspoon of white discharge- im not sure if thats the medication that fell off or the infection itself. So I immediately changed my undies and so far so good. I didnt feel any symptoms that morning and afternoon. Until here comes 8pm for my 2nd day. But this time, everything is calm LOL. There is no burning and discharge, slight deep itchiness-a lot better! I hope the YI is gone and i will still continue my last dose tomorrow.-definitely works for me. I just hate the burning part. But i highly recommend Monistat3.Read More Read Less

37 weeks pregnant and found a YI less than a week after starting antibiotics for unrelated illness. (No symptoms except slight discharge seen by doctor.) Day One: Minor itch, no burn. Itch was deep and and an annoyance rather than a terror. Began immediately after insertion, lasted at least an hour as I could not immediately fall asleep. Day Two: Repeat of Day One. Possibly less itchy but very close to prior night’s symptoms. Day Three: Absolutely couldn’t feel medicine. I do feel like M3 was reason I woke up ridiculously early on all mornings after taking and couldn’t go back to sleep. Could be unrelated, however, and just another end of pregnancy joy. ??Read More Read Less

I felt a mild YI coming on after taking a round of antibiotics, so I bought Monistat 7 thinking it would clear it up fast and cheap. (I didn't want to spend a precious day off at the doctor's.) I was prepared for leakage. I was NOT prepared for the INSANE level of itching. It seriously felt like I'd inserted poison ivy up there. Or an army of ants that kept multiplying. Or that itching powder kids used to play pranks with. I'm not exaggerating; it was UNGODLY. I couldn't sit still, couldn't focus, felt like crying. Eventually I found some relief by sitting on an ice pack. My partner was trying to fall asleep and I was squirming around on the ice pack, so I let him sleep and went to the sofa and tried to relax. By 3am, it felt bearable. By 5am, it felt mostly ok. Today I woke up feeling fine. Went to pee, and a mild itching started up. It's bearable but I have to work today, and it's definitely uncomfortable. My lady bits feel dry and sore today. The whole ordeal was way worse than the YI itself. I will NOT be using the remaining 6 applications. Read More Read Less

I bought the Monistat 3 day and it works. I followed the instructions and I inserted it then went to bed. After dose 1, the redness in my vagina went away. After dose 2 , the swelling and itching went away and I felt 100 times better. I still took the 3rd dose just for a precaution. I highly recommend it.

It works. I’ve experienced many yeast infections over the years and this medication has worked for me just as well as a pill from the doctor. I’ve even had my doctor recommend Monistat to me when the pill didn’t work. There is some uncomfortable itching and the annoyance of having to wear a liner because of discharge, but it beats a yeast infection.

I have had yeast infections before but usually end up seeing my gyno to get prescribed medication. This time my mom told me to try Monistat so I did. The first day was absolutely miserable. When I tell you it burned so so incredibly bad take my word for it. I was barely able to sleep. However, when I woke up I was beginning to feel better and feel less symptoms. I decided to attempt to take day 2 and felt fine (no burning, no itching, nothing). However, after hours of having it in and going to the bathroom I am now back to being EXTREMELY itchy and I am prepared to sit on a wire brush to relieve the itch. I could not recommend anything less. I will be calling my doctor asap and praying that she’s able to help me because I have never experienced this bad of an itch. Sorry that’s a bit TMI but don’t recommend Read More Read Less

this is a warning about reading other reviews as well as a review. almost ALL of the good reviews start with "this is my first yeast infection" and "i was scared after reading reviews" and use the same verbiage. first of all who even says "this is my first yeast infection" as if it's like a milestone or something. like if it's ur first yeast infection u need to be going to a dr bc u don't know what one feels like for reference. i would bet anything most if not all of the reviews written in that manner are from the manufacturer. ANYWHO- my experience. i only tried the cream that came with it because i had a friend who had a really bad reaction to the 1 day one and so i wanted to test a little first. glad i did! absolutely awful. i don't get how a tiny bit of external ointment could cause cramping and nausea within 20 minutes. it made the burning worse but honestly i have like a really really bad yeast infection so i don't 100% know that the monistat caused the burning to worsen bc it seems like anything that touches my cooter causes burning. but i can 100% say it caused the cramping and nausea and that's scary bc what?? like i didn't even put it in me just ON me. i also wanna say this product was bad prior to 2019, my friend who went to the er from using monistat took it mid 2018. terconazole has been studied to have significantly less adverse reactions than monistat, the only reason i didn't buy it was bc walgreens only had the 1 day terconazole and 1 day seems too concentrated to me Read More Read Less

I have been having yeast infection symptoms for a couple of weeks now and I did not know that is what was going on (I thought it was a UTI) until I had a consult with a urologist and he recommended Monistat 3 for the treatment. I was already experiencing pain, burning, and itching as a result of the yeast infection prior to using Monistat. The cream for damaged skin around the vagina has actually been very helpful and soothing. I must admit I am only on day 1 of the 3 day treatment and it was a bit difficult to get the suppository inserted since I was experiencing the most pain and burning on my skin at the insertion point. What I did that really helped me be able to insert more easily was I rubbed a small amount of vaseline around the applicator tube to act as a lubricant This worked wonders and I was able to easily and almost pain free insert the applicator and release the suppository I kind of have short arms so the hard part for me was pushing the bottom part of the applicator to release the suppository. I am not sure how Monistat could possibly reconfigure their applicator to make it easier to release. After this first day, my itching and burning has actually decreased and I am experiencing some relief from my yeast infection symptoms. to those with bad reviews I would say ti make sure you are not allergic to anything that is in Monistat's medication. this is probably why they have experienced burning severely etc. I am hoping for the next 2 days to go well too.Read More Read Less

I have had yeast infections before but it's been a few years since my last one. I have been going crazy with this recent one I've had it going on 2weeks tried hime remedies at first then finally called my doctor who prescribed fluconazole It's been 3 days since I took the F pill and I am still itching and burning down there. It's sore and gets swollen at times I can't sleep don't want to eat because I'm so uncomfortable. I have become a beast to live with. Well I decided to try monistat 3;as this product had helped me in the past OMG!!. Worst decision ever! First I couldn't insert the darn thing in my vag it caused some pain I don't know if being menopausal and having vaginal dryness made it more difficult. I could barely get it in and then the little grabby things that hold the oval pill scraped me up pretty bad. I couldn't even get the darn thing in so the pill just got stuck at the entrance I pulled it out because it caused me quite a bit of pain. I got the courage to do it again and managed to get it in BIG MISTAKE! I like others experienced excruciating pain and burning I said to myself what have I done! I a 60 year old woman was crying from the pain Needless to say it did not ease any symptoms. I wish I had seen these reviews before buying this medication and it's not cheap and now I have to dump it in the trash. It makes me so mad that these companies would put out a product that clearly doesn't work for most and actually hurts you more than helps. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Do more research and scrap this product. like I said before I had tried this product in the past the 7;day one and it didn't hurt or burn or cause itching. I really hope you listen to the women on this post who are so dissatisfied with Monistat 3. But I'm sure you will just go by the handful of women that this product actually helped. Your product is TERRIBLE!! Read More Read Less

ok so ima give it to you straight, i had a whole anxiety attack after reading a lot of the bad reviews and ended up completely scaring myself into thinking i would have a bad experience. i was TERRIFIED after reading TONS of bad reviews 10 mins after taking it. but i did not have any horrible symptoms at all. the medicine works fine. there is A LITTLE bit of burning/itching that i experienced but nothing like other reviews explained. PLEASE DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TAKE THIS. it works great, just wear a panty liner for leakage and take some pain killer if you’re feeling uncomfortable. a lot of these women i think are allergic to something in it, but that was not the case for me. i am completely fine after 24 hrs and have had no bad reaction. would i take it again? no. i would resort to the 3-7 day treatment but overall i would not be scared to try this. please don’t let these reviews scare you. consult with your doctor first if you’re concerned. Well here I am… up late in the middle of the night with the same burning sensation everyone else mentioned. I really need to start reading reviews before I spend money foolishly. I wanted to treat my YI quickly before leaving for vacation, but am bailing after after reading reviews of gals getting sick post-treatment. It truly is worth it to go to the doctor. Please don’t waste your money. Go spend it on a bunch of ice cream instead.

This works. Unbearable burning/fire and next level itching is the result of a secondary skin infection or skin abrasions/lesions in my experience. If you can deal with the yeast infection, treat the skin problem first (if you have no insurance like me, I used Benadryl cream and triple antibiotic over that for about a week until it healed up). Then I retried Monistat 3 along with generous amounts of anti itch cream and everything was incredibly bearable. Very mild burn and an annoying itch that went away with the itch cream. This time I used Monistat anti itch which works well, but can burn a lot for first few mins but worth it considering. I don’t suggest Monistat anti itch if you have a skin issue…too strong.Read More Read Less

I wish I would’ve read the reviews before wasting my money on this bullsh**. I felt a very mild yeast infection coming on, I had little to no itching mostly just a little burning and discomfort. My friend recommended I use Monistat and she told me how it would burn… but she didn’t say it would burn like a million suns and make you itch more than any yeast infection I’ve ever had!!!!! As soon as I inserted the cream it made my vagina feel like a war zone. I tried to tough it out and lay down, but nopeee it was horrible. Please do not waste your time and money on this just go see a doctor. Read More Read Less

Buyer's Beware!!! I started to feel a yeast infection coming on so picked this one up I usually use the off brand and it does it's thing but they didn't have any ok no biggy so I thought. Now I regret not looking up reviews on the green box because after using the first dose, I laid down for bed every thing was fine until 3am I woke up to literally feeling like I was on fire from top to bottom down there totally discomfort started to itch real bad. The worst feeling ever I had to go take a shower to rinse as much off and just wait a few hours for the pain and itch to subside. Bump this crap I'm not about to use the last two Hell No!! I threw them straight in the garbage where this crap belongs! Never again will I use this!Read More Read Less
