DO NOT take this medicine!! I watched this medicine slowly take my mother away from me. She was on it for 7 months and only off of it for 2 weeks until she finally commited suicide. Yes, she killed herself from this medicine. This medication NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OFF OF THE MARKET!! She had anxiety, depression, confusion, muscle ticks, suicidal thoughts, no appetite, constant diarrhea and lost down to...

My husband was given Reglan for Gastro Perisis. After 5 weeks was so tired GI told him to stop taking it. 3 days later started with the anxiety, sleeplessness, to the point that he is unable to work or do anything he enjoys. This has gone on for 4 weeks. How long can we expect these side effects to continue? Please tell me there is an end to this nightmare? Would never recommend this drug for any medical problem.

My 66 year old sister was diagnosed with Barrett's and recently took Reglan for a month and then went off of it because she started having severe anxiety, depression and has now lost over 20 lbs. She was a very vibrant woman working full time and could work circles around most people half her age. She now cannot function to do normal tasks. Her doctor said this will go away, but it has been over a month and she has severe anxiety and feelings of hopelessness. She rarely sleeps too. They have her on an anti-depressant and nerve medication. This can't be good!! Read More Read Less

After taking this drug for 3 weeks, I experienced anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, severe agitation, and suicidal thoughts. I immediately stopped taking it. Doctors and family implied that this was a natural symptom of the aging process and I was over-dramatizing the drug's effects. My local pharmacist (and WEB MD folk) were the only people who validated my experiences. Pharmacist stated that from 2009 to 2012 he noticed these same reactions from his clientele and couldn't explain it, since, for decades before that, there was no problem. He theorized that, perhaps the fillers used in the drug were contaminated in this particular lot. After 10 months of hell, (July-May (2012-2013) my symptoms have subsided. Obviously, I do not reecommend this drug. Thanks to all who shared their experiences, it really helped.Read More Read Less

I developed a panic disorder and was afraid to be alone. I also had involuntary body movements [arms & legs jerking] along with facial tremors and ticks. Thank God a psychiatrist diagnosed the problem. I thought I was having mental breakdown!

My father had a stroke 1.5 years ago and was given Reglan by the doctor. He has been diagnosed with tardive dyskenesia and the neurologist noted it is most likely due to use of the Reglan. My father is now unable to speak as the Reglan causes him to breath erratically and has difficulty taking in oxygen due to challenges with breathing in sufficient air, which has impacted his ability to recover from the stroke. Do NOT take this medication.

my 7 1/2 yr old grandson was put on Reglan when he was a few months old due to severe GERD which led to vomiting and failure to thrive (low weight gain - he has never been out of the 5 percentile on weight) until he was almost 3 yrs old. GERD was so bad he could not sleep lying down at all. He spent the 1st 2+ yrs of his life sleeping in either a home modified baby swing that would keep him totally upright or in the most comfortable upright. He developed severe tardive dyskinesia, mostly in his arms, hands, legs and feet. It appears like he is trying to fly and swim at the same time. It happens several times an hour, every day. It gets worse and occurs more often in times of stress (ie school, doing homework, when he is disciplined) and sometimes when he is just bored or over-tired. There is NO Cure for TD. He will have this the rest of his life. I finally got the drs convinced that Reglan was the cause when I read about a case of Reglan caused TD in Europe in a toddler. We tried to sue the drs involved with no success because at the time, TD was not recognized as a side effect. Over the years, prob partially thanks to my endless letters to FDA, it is finally listed as a potential side effect. TD in his arms and hands severely impacts his ability to print, draw and do other activities requiring steady control. The TD in his legs prevents him from most athletic activities. He can not run or play like other kids because when the TD starts, he loses all muscle control. My grandson's live has been ruined because of the drs insisting it was the ONLY drug that would work on severe pediatric GERD. He will never have a "normal" active lifestyle because of this horrid drug! Read More Read Less

After half a hour I began to feel relief. The pain and nausea and vomiting completely stopped. I only wish I could take more than twice a day, every 6 hours. Great product!

I received injections of this drug in my IV when I had severe morning sickness. It made me so agitated and anxious that I attempted suicide. Worst time in my entire life.

I have been taking Reglan for 13 years for diabetic gastroparesis. Twice I have had severe episodes of balance problems like I was walking while severely drunk. Both times I ended up in hospital to rule out stroke and brain tumor.Neurologist recently suggested going off Reglan and already balance issues have gotten better.

It mostly works pretty well for controlling the nausea, but I also have IBS. Sometimes not only do I have abdominal cramps but also in the upper intestine-stomach area there is some cramping when there never was before. I take a very low dose, and my nausea was so bad previously, that it is a big relief to have this medication. At the same time, with all of the side effects I read about, I am a little apprehensive about taking it for a long period of time. I asked my Dr. about these side effects, she got a little bit defensive about it. :( So, I will keep taking it because I don't know what else to do and it really helps! Read More Read Less

It works great to stop the nausea and vomiting and as a migraine coctail ingeredent. It also helped with my acid reflux some. The only bad thing I have to say about it is the "twitches" or hyperness I get with it sometimes. It doesn't always make me hyper, but it can. When it does I have do have to take either a lot of benydryl up to 100 MG or up to 1 MG of Clonzapam to get to normal again. If you can handle the hyperness I would use it. It does work great and the effectivness of it does out weigh the side effects. Read More Read Less

After taking this medication a number of years ago, my mother has now been diagnosed with Parkinson's dementia. The neurologist seems to think it was most probably brought on by Reglan use.
